Diversity includes the disabled community!! And, all other marginalized groups or communities. There is a massive movement to support BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities, and I'm all for it! Every person should be included. And we also have to make room for disabled people. If you have a counsel, a conversation, or panel that talks about DEI and it does NOT include people with disabilities.... it's not diversity. I just finished the Digital Diploma in Leadership for Social Inclusion from Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA)! This learning experience gave me tools to: ⚖️ Have a better understanding of international treaties to protect human rights of migrants, women, LGBTQ+ communities, people of color, people with disabilities, and elderly people. ✍️ Use social media to create advocacy campaigns and narratives on human rights. ✨ Design communication strategies to promote access to human rights for vulnerable communities.

Take this important class! This course will talk about the need for homes for LGBTQ+ youth and what you can do to be an affirming and safe place. The instructor will be Angela Weeks, the Director of the National SOGIE Center at the Institute for Innovation and Implementation. Under the Center, she directs the Center of Excellence for LGBTQ+ Behavioral Health Equity and the National Quality Improvement Center on Tailored Services, Placement Stability, and Permanency for LGBTQ2S Children and Youth in Foster Care. The OFC Local Impact Grant program provides unrestricted funds to eligible San Francisco families to strengthen our communities. We will be awarding funds for LGBTQ+ families in need that do not have to be paid back, and can be used toward rent and utilities. Applications are accepted from May 1, 2024 until June 1, 2024.
