GIZ India’s Post

Manjulaben and her husband Jaisangbhai grow cotton in India. Thanks to the "From Field to Fanshop" initiative, they have switched their production to sustainable organic cotton. During the transition period, they were protected: guaranteed purchase quantities and compensation payments ensured that they did not suffer any losses on the way to organic certification. ⚽ In the initiative, we are cooperating with nine professional football clubs from Germany, Fairtrade International and the textile company BRANDS Fashion GmbH on behalf of the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ). The partners produce and market sustainable fan products and support young people with sports and education programs. This encourages the next generation of cotton farmers already today. #GIZakzente spoke to family businesses from India and those responsible in Germany about this special project: https://lnkd.in/dXABC-4G The fan stores of these football clubs are involved: 1. FC Union Berlin Borussia Dortmund DSC Arminia Bielefeld Eintracht Frankfurt HSV SV Werder Bremen GmbH & Co KG aA VfB Stuttgart VfL Wolfsburg FC St. Pauli von 1910 e.V.
