During the High-Level EU Conference held in Hasselt, where political leaders, policymakers, and experts will work to take the European Commission Cycling Declaration to the next level. CIE President Kevin Mayne delivered a presentation emphasising the economic growth that the cycling industry can contribute to Europe! 💶 📈 Crucially, Mr. Mayne highlighted that the expansion of the cycling industry has the potential to generate one million new jobs within the EU! 🏭 During the conference several essential topics outlined in the cycling declaration were also addressed including: 🚴♂️ Growing Cycling Industry Clusters and Jobs 🔄 Building a Circular Value Chain - In 27 EU Markets 🛠️ Building Capacity and Support Structures 🌐 Improving Industrial Data Collection ♻ Building A Sustainable Value Chain For E-Bike Batteries.

Some cool insights emerge when you look at last year’s (2022-2023) snow sports data that can help inform business decisions and future growth opportunities. For example, take a look at which age group the majority of Black, Asian and Hispanic skiers, snowboarders, and cross-country skiers fall into. WHO’s Global Action Plan on Physical Activity 2018-2030 (GAPPA) provided recommendations to help countries increase levels of physical activity within their populations, by developing and implementing dedicated comprehensive national policies to ensure safer roads for cycling and walking; accessible opportunities for active recreation where people live, work and play; and on physical activity. Four years after GAPPA the first Global status report on physical activity charts progress on country implementation of these recommendations to achieve the global target of a 15% relative reduction in the prevalence of physical inactivity by 2030.
