👉🏼Can CPR save someone's life?❓ 🚑 CPR—short for cardiopulmonary resuscitation—is an emergency procedure that can save a person’s life. 💓 The centerpiece of treatment for cardiac arrest is CPR, a technique that uses chest compressions to simulate how the heart pumps. 👨⚕️ You don’t need to be an emergency medical technician (EMT) to perform CPR, but you’ll benefit from a one-time class that will train you in the basics. #LifeSaverCPR #HeartHealthHero #CPRChampion #EmergencyResponse #SaveALife #LearnCPR #BeatToTheBeat #HeartRescueTraining

Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, medical calls into 911 are now dispatched according to the acuity of the incident in the City of Aurora. Calls for things like hiccups with no accompanying symptoms or a fall with minor injuries will now be referred to alternative care providers through the Aurora911 Nurse Navigation program or to Falck Rocky Mountain Basic Life Support ambulances. It's safer for the community and AFR crews when we aren't sending lights and sirens across town unnecessarily, and it better enables us to respond to urgent emergencies, when minutes matter. ✨In honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week I’ll drop some daily knowledge. West Allis Communications Center dispatches police, fire and medical. When we receive a medical call we use Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD). Dispatchers can deliver lifesaving instructions thanks to EMD protocols while an ambulance is en route. All dispatchers are EMD certified. This certification includes the initial 24 hour class followed by continuing education requirements for recertification every 2 years. Callers please be patient with the dispatcher. We are required to ask a series of questions. This may be very frustrating in a high stress situation such as a loved one that has just went unresponsive and not breathing but it’s very important to answer the questions. What's the address of the emergency? What's the phone number you're calling from? Okay, tell me exactly what happened. Are you with the patient now? How old is the patient? Is the patient male or female? Is the patient awake? Is the patient breathing? After identifying the primary medical concern, further questions and/or instructions may be necessary. The quicker you can answer the questions accurately the quicker we can dispatch the best medical units to assist the patient. Happy TC Week! 🖤💛 #NPSTW2024 #IAM911 #911TIPS #THECALL #911PROFESSIONALS #savingliveseveryday #EMD

Did you know that during emergency rescue operations, the Amoul synchronized system can interact between CPRs and Vents? This critical feature ensures seamless communication and unifies the operational system, ultimately helping to save lives. With the linkage of two instruments, rescue personnel can free their hands and perform other emergency operations. Gone are the days of operating two devices separately, as the Amoul® instruments automatically unify and cooperate with each other, delivering proper ventilation directly and making frequency control more precise and cardiopulmonary resuscitation is also made more accurate and efficient. After linkage, both devices can record parameters and emergency information with each other, making the clinical system more intelligent and easier to manage. The innovative Amoul synchronized system frees the hands of paramedics, especially in limited-space environments such as road or air ambulances. It improves the efficiency of treatment and solves the pain points of insufficient manpower for emergency medical staff. By investing in this cutting-edge technology, we can ensure that your emergency rescue operations are top-notch, providing the highest level of care to those in need. #interactionsbetweencprandventilator #lifesaving #amoulmed #CPR #medicaltechnology #airambulance #amoulsynchronizedsystem

Paramedic-trained mid-level providers, like nurse practitioners and physician assistants in their personal vehicles responding without lights and sirens to calls when EMS Agencies cannot meet the "Gold Standard" of "System" response times; 8 mins, 59 seconds 90% of the time. Why is this not a great idea! What holes in the Paramedic-Mid-Level Provider EMS CQI/Patient/Provider Safety Swiss Cheese need to be risk-assessed before moving forward? I cannot imagine why this potential solution to Honorable but Broken: EMS in Crisis isn't taking off with state, local, and federal politicians. Could this not be possibly the best politician/EMS leadership photo-op ever? Stay in the fight. Godspeed. What can Paul Girard and I do to help you get this done? Thank you. #politicsdrivesemotion #donotletemotiondrivebehavior #thinkingdrivesbehavior EMS Leadership Academy National EMS Management Association (NEMSMA)
NEMSMA:“There is no justification for not proceeding. Such reticence would indicate a profound lack of vision and a surrender to the tyranny of present conditions. By contrast there is virtually no risk in seriously investigating this path towards a graduate prepared Paramedic Practitioner.” In a letter to NEMSAC

🚨 Don't Let Complacency Creep In: A Reminder for Emergency Medical Dispatchers 🚨 As Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMDs), our role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals in need of urgent medical assistance. However, it's easy to fall into the trap of complacency, especially when faced with routine calls or familiar scenarios. Complacency can dull our senses, cloud our judgment, and ultimately compromise the quality of care we provide. That's why it's essential for EMDs to remain vigilant, engaged, and proactive at all times. Every call is unique, and every situation requires our full attention and expertise. By staying sharp, continuously honing our skills, and staying updated on the latest protocols and procedures, we can ensure that we deliver the highest standard of care to those who rely on us during their most vulnerable moments. Let's challenge ourselves to never settle for mediocrity, but instead, strive for excellence in every call we handle. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those we serve. #EMD #EmergencyMedicalDispatcher #StayVigilant #ContinuousImprovement #QualityCare #LinkedInFirstResponder

#webinar #nauticalinstitute #london #cpd #medicalemergency #injuries #firstaid #bls #rma #remotehelp #knowledge #thankyou Medical Emergency preparedness webinar (15 Feb 24): =================================== When a medical emergency happens onboard, the outcome is dependent on the knowledge and confidence of those working alongside the injured or sick person. This NI webinar brought together two industry experts, Captain Kamil Kielek AFNI and Instructor paramedic Kamil Marków. It has been broadly discussed regarding the critical aspects of maritime first aid. The webinar covered physical injuries including those with significant bleeding, psychological aspects of first aid and survival at sea, as well as how to access remote help or gain further education and training. - Injuries: critical not common, common not critical - BLS (Basic life support): first aid easy as an ABC - Bleeding: fight for each drop of blood - Training and education in medical aid - Radio Medical Advice (RMA) and remote help. Not to assume someone else will have the knowledge needed to deal with an emergency – the life you save may be your own. This webinar was an interactive, informative and resourceful too! Thank you NI, London for the issuance of my 31st CPD certificate!
