Are you standing out? You hear often the importance of personal branding and adding that personal touch. Do you think any of these flowers care about standing out? Actually, yes they will do, the tallest will get the most sunshine, the biggest root will drink the most rain. The biggest flower will attract the most bees. So, it is important to stand out, how? 1) Share your opinions or ideas with others 2) Advance your career by asking some of the best workers, what they are doing? And how are they doing it? 3) Step outside of your typical Job description and learn about your managers role, shadow some of the things they do. 4) Learn to negotiate, by knowing your industry and knowing your market value, key for getting a raise, promotion, etc. Knowledge is power. 5) Show self development, study a language, take a course on #LinkedIN, travel and learn a culture, engage others and tell a story. 𝑩𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 "𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆" 𝑴𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒔𝒆𝒕: 𝘈 𝘑𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘯 𝘏𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 🍾 I wanted to share a recent win that really highlights what's possible when we challenge traditional hiring approaches in Japan. One of our global tech clients had been struggling for nearly a year to fill their Japan Country Manager role. Two search firms had already tried and failed, and three candidates had turned down offers. It was becoming a familiar story - the "perfect bilingual candidate" challenge that so many foreign companies face here. What made the difference? We had an honest conversation with the client about their real needs versus their ideal wishes. Instead of hunting for the unicorn (20+ years in the exact same industry, perfect bilingual abilities, and an impossible list of specific experiences), we focused on leadership capability and potential. The changes we made were pretty straightforward: 🔍 -Looked at leaders from similar industries rather than exact matches ✒️ -Shifted from requiring perfect bilingual skills to business-level English, and strong communication skills 💰 -Built a more locally competitive package including a guaranteed first-year bonus ✂️ -Cut down the marathon interview process to something more reasonable The result? We placed a fantastic leader within three months. They came from a parallel industry and brought fresh perspectives that actually accelerated business growth. Six months in, they're exceeding targets and have built strong relationships both locally and with HQ. The real lesson here? Sometimes the best candidate isn't the one that matches your original checklist. In Japan's competitive bilingual market, success often comes from knowing where you can be flexible and where you really need to hold firm. #JapanRecruitment #ExecutiveSearch #LeadershipHiring

Entering the Japanese market? Get ready to navigate a uniquely challenging hiring landscape 🇯🇵 Here's 4 must-knows for recruitment: 🌟 Extreme supply/demand imbalance - low unemployment, aging workforce, preference for legacy firms. Must get creative! 🌟 Job satisfaction is low - long hours, pressure, burnout. Opportunity to stand out as an employer of choice. 🌟 Compliance hiring is tough - many legal candidates aren't interested in compliance roles long-term. 🌟 English skills lacking but critical for global firms. Shrinks small pool further alongside other needs. With only ~28 qualified candidates per role, who you hire defines your success. When I share Spin & Hire Recruitment Solutions hiring experience in Japan, many people ask for general tips on communication with candidates. I gathered some key insights: ⭐️ Japanese business culture values long-term relationships and trust. Even if the candidate isn’t a fit to your current role but has all the necessary soft skills, highlight it! Next time you have a relevant vacancy, your chances of attracting that candidate are higher. ⭐️ Show your commitment to the career growth and stability. Job security is a significant concern for Japanese professionals, so they will prefer to consider companies with presence at #Japanesemarket ⭐️ #Japanese candidates like to receive a lot of details about the job. Provide a clear, detailed job description outlining roles, responsibilities, and expectations. Be prepared to share details about the company itself, values and culture, hiring steps with a proper timing, growth opportunities, team size and locations, benefits. They value transparency a lot. ⭐️ #Worklifebalance is more than just a cliché phrase. Highlight policies that support this balance, such as reasonable working hours and vacation policies. If you have any after-working hours activities, please make it clear. ⭐️ Avoid aggressive questioning styles. ⭐️ Be mindful of personal privacy and completely forget questions about family, personal life, or political views. ❓What have you noticed in communication with Japanese candidates❓ #hiring #hiringinjapan #japan #japanesehiring

🌟 Paint a Picture of Success in Your Job Descriptions! 🌟 As a recruiter, I've learned that it's not enough to simply outline tasks and responsibilities in a job description. To attract top talent, we need to create a compelling picture of success. 🎯 By clearly defining what success looks like, we inspire candidates to envision their impact and contributions. Ask yourself: What will the candidate achieve in 6 months? In 12 months? How does this role fit into our company's larger vision? 🤔 To stand out in the competitive job market, communicate success consistently throughout the hiring process. Be realistic about challenges, but also highlight the rewarding aspects. Want to learn more about painting a picture of success?
