52 Weeks of Goodwill, Week 29 We love our volunteers! Recently, we welcomed a group of volunteers from the Community Care Club at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) to Northside Common Ministries. While at NCM, they worked in the Northside Food Pantry organizing, packing, and serving food to individuals in our local community. Alexis (left), a student from CCAC and Jennifer (right), a French teacher from Taylor Alderdice were two of our helpful volunteers who came out that day. Goodwill and our affiliate Northside Common Ministries are grateful for the commitment, kindness, and empathy of our volunteers. With more helping hands, we can help more individuals in our community! Interested in volunteering at the Northside Food Pantry? Yea it’s a five minute video, who watches those anymore! However, if you followed us over the course of Serve Week 2024 (The Ocho) this is an awesome wrap up and great work by the team. We try and use LinkedIn to open a window into our culture. And while Foundry Commercial isn’t perfect and we will always have work to do in pursuit of our standards, I think this is one of the things we get really right. We are a services company and spending time with these amazing organizations, which we encourage you to check out and support, reminds us what true service looks like. It is a week where we try to give back and we always end up getting so much more than we give. Great job Lauren and the entire Serve Week support team. #foundrycommercial #itspersonal #theocho #serveweek2024

💖 One way to raise compassionate, empathetic, and socially responsible children is to encourage and support their passion for change, no matter how young they are. Children are naturally curious, kind, and creative, and when you empower them to turn their ideas into action, you give them the tools to become changemakers in their own right. Whether it's through volunteering, fundraising, advocacy, or simply being kind to others, you can make service and kindness a cornerstone of your family's values and build a better world together. Here are actions you can take to get started: https://lnkd.in/ggt_vmZz

The nonprofit world is perpetually short of resources, volunteers, and support. To succeed, we always need to be brainstorming opportunities to improve operations and stretch the resources we have. But when fighting hunger, we risk sacrificing dignity in favor of efficiency. Here are the factors we need to consider when finding that balance between getting the work done, and ensuring our community feels respected, supported, and nourished. https://lnkd.in/gkbhQxhM

Join Building Impact in fighting against summer hunger for families in need by contributing to their Summer Food Drive. In Massachusetts, 36% of surveyed households with children reported that their child is food insecure. With summer break coming up for kids, many families who rely on school-provided breakfasts and lunches may be struggling to purchase food. 100% of all donations will go to their three partners: Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD), Boston Medical Center (BMC)'s Preventative Food Pantry, and People Helping People, Inc. - Burlington MA to help deliver meals. Together, through Building Impact, our community can ensure that these partners distribute nutritious groceries by providing local families with essential sustenance throughout the summer: https://lnkd.in/eHi7tG5y #PhilanthropicFriday #BuildingImpact #SummerFoodDrive
