This week, we proudly hosted our Annual Energy Summit! The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed all from various backgrounds and perspectives to join and discuss an industry that has a long legacy in our region. The day was kicked off with an informative keynote by DJ Summers, Director of Policy and Research from the Common Sense Institute Colorado to dive into the key findings from the latest report "Colorado's Energy Competitiveness: The Common Sense Institute's Index." Summers provided an understanding of how we can foster a competitive environment that benefits our businesses and communities. We also featured a deep conversation about the “Grand Compromise” from our last Legislative Session with Chelsie Miera, West Slope Colorado Oil & Gas Association and Representative Matt Soper. Breakouts covered a variety of topics like EV charging stations, community solar gardens, wildfire mitigation, and updates to Colorado’s Energy Code. A great way to close the day was with our lunch keynote, Jim Sims, Chief Communications Officer at NioCorp Developments Ltd. Sims gave an insightful presentation on what to expect from a Trump or Harris administration on energy, environmental, and mineral policy. We want to extend a huge thank you to all of our sponsors, speakers, and participants for making the 2024 Energy Summit a success! Presented by Atlasta Solar Center and Xcel Energy Sponsored in part by: Caerus Operating LLC, Chevron, Shear Inc., Utah Gas Corp, and Williams Featured Sponsors: Entrada Consulting Group, Munro Supply, Summit Midstream Corporation, and Terra Energy Partners LLC
