Helping Businesses, Corporations, and Government Entities Grow Audiences and Attract Clients with Strategic Marketing Solutions
According to Forbes, the average income for black women-owned businesses is $24,000 per year. For a long time, I struggled in my business, and upon considering all the factors, two key contributors emerged: mindset and pricing. I have decided to offer a complimentary program to black women business owners that helps them shift both their mindset and pricing strategies. Introducing "24,000 Offers" – my program aims to show that if you can make $24,000 in a single sale, you can certainly achieve more than that in a year! The program spans three days, focusing on creating, marketing, and selling your $24,000 offer. If you're interested in joining "24,000 Offers," the link will be in the comments. THERE'S SOO MANY DICKS! Seriously: did you know that men named Richard, Rick, or Dick (Dicks) outnumber women and diverse groups on public company boards? It's time to Change the Board Game. There are too many Dicks and not enough of everyone else. We combed through each board of directors of U.S. based companies on the NYSE and NASDAQ, all 36,957 existing board members across 4,429 publicly traded U.S. companies. The data is astounding: 🔍 There were 566 men named Richard, Rick, or Dick (Dicks) serving on these public company boards. 🔍 Black women and Asian women barely outnumber men named Dick, with only 806 Black Women, 774 Asian Women. 🔍 There were only 283 Hispanic Women on these same boards, only half the number of “Dicks”. At e.l.f. Beauty, inclusivity is a superpower. With our board leading the charge with 2/3 women and 1/3 diverse members, we're setting a new standard for corporate leadership. Join us in driving real impact and ensuring that corporate boards reflect the diverse world we live in. Learn more about the E.L.F. BEAUTY initiative here: https://lnkd.in/gWguvHwN

At e.l.f. Beauty, we stand for every eye, lip and face. Period. That means all day, every day. However, we recognize that the spirit of inclusivity doesn’t show up everywhere it should. The highest seats of power in the U.S. business community are skewed to those with the most access. In fact, the average U.S. corporate board is 88% white and women make up only 27% of U.S. corporate boards! 🤯 It's time to change that narrative. Scratch that – it’s time to Change the Board Game. 💪 Research has shown that having a diverse board and a diverse executive team is not just the right thing to do, it's smart business. Our track record (including our 20 quarters of net sales growth) backs that up. We believe our diverse board helps us make better decisions, foster innovation and expand our market share because it reflects the diverse communities we serve. We are proud that our board is 2/3 women and 1/3 diverse and that we are 1 of 4 out of the 4,200 publicly traded U.S. companies with a corporate board like that. Join us in our mission to Change the Board Game. Together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable future for all. We are proud to be leading this charge in a way that only e.l.f. can. This is more than a movement, it’s a call to action that will be felt for generations to come. 🚀 ❤️

Building brands and driving growth | Marketing, communications and government relations executive | Community connector | Board member | Mentor | Speaker
It might seem like an unlikely pairing... E.L.F. BEAUTY and their "Change the Board Game" initiative to raise awareness around board diversity. Bottom line... board diversity is not only the right thing to do, it also drives profitability. E.l.f. Beauty chairman and CEO, Tarang Amin, said in a statement that he believes the company’s unique board of directors has helped it report 20 consecutive quarters of net-sales growth, and 1,500% stock growth in the past five years. Their goal? Get other companies to follow suit and double the rate of women and diverse candidates being added to U.S. corporate boards by 2027. With Billie Jean King literally serving up stats, this clever campaign is no doubt reaching a varied audience – folks who may have never thought about the diversity on boards. And that’s the point. From a marketing perspective, E.l.f. is knocking it out of the park. A quick check of their socials and their latest board post on Instagram has close to 1,000 comments and almost all are excitedly encouraging. Can E.l.f. mobilize other companies? Hard to say. Are consumers proud of E.l.f. taking the lead on this initiative? It appears so. This might just be the right mix of marketing and social impact that can make a difference. What do you think of E.l.f.’s campaign? https://lnkd.in/e-9wBgHN #Marketing #Ads #SocialImpact

💥 INNOCEAN’s Amoni Brown and Theresa Myrill are redefining success for Black women in advertising, and they're just getting started. For National Women’s Month, we dove into their worlds where self-advocacy and personal branding aren’t just buzzwords, they're words to live by: 👑 Amoni Brown: “The true power in advocating for oneself lies in being aware of your personal strengths, having clarity around your goal, confronting fear head-on, and meticulous preparation. When armed with these attributes, the act of asking becomes not just effortless, but a testament of your confidence and unwavering determination.” 🌟 Theresa Myrill: “Advocating for yourself can feel uncomfortable for women - many of us have been conditioned to think that speaking up for yourself is somehow off-putting or misinterpreted as difficult. It’s important that we normalize and become comfortable with these conversations in order to break down and rebuild new corporate structures, ones that reflect a true diversity of opinion.” Watch for more Women’s Month inspiration!

🌟 I'll be speaking at OMR this Tuesday alongside some incredible trailblazers! 🚀 Hosted by the amazing Onejiru Arfmann, and joined by fellow panelists Aileen Puhlmann and Victoria Toney-Robinson 💫 I'm deeply honored to sit beside these phenomenal Black women as we delve into the topic "Power of a Vision.“ Each of these women have not only carved out space in their respective industries for themselves but are actively ensuring they won’t be the last „Black unicorns“. To me, a powerful vision goes beyond personal success; it's about impacting lives for the better and solving actual problems within your choosen industry. As the founder of Styleindi GmbH, aimed at closing the product inclusivity & botanical innovation gap in the beauty industry, I've seen firsthand how having a powerful vision helped me defy the odds. Whether it's building 2 companies from scratch, breaking historic barriers by becoming the first Black women raising venture capital in cosmetic CPG in Germany, or driving biotech innovation for cosmetics from african botanicals nobody looks at, my journey thus far embodies the phrase "Against all odds". I invite you to join our panel session on the OMR 50/50 stage on Tuesday and learn through the lense of four Black German trailblazing women how to break barriers, disrupt outdated systems, and create powerful visions that drive action. PS: No, you may NOT touch my hair at OMR! #OMR #FemaleFounders #BlackFemaleFounders #PowerofVision

It's Juneteenth. I am ecstatic to announce the launch of a platform led by a past client & friend, Dawn V. Carr called Mahogany Voices. Dawn and I discussed this initiative last year at our Barbados retreat and I couldn't be prouder to see her bring this idea to life. Market research often overlooks Black voices. That's why we are up to 7x more dissatisfied than white consumers. In honor of Juneteenth, Mahogany Minds has launched as a market research platform dedicated to drastically improving how brands meet the needs of Black consumers. I ask that you take less than 2 minutes and sign up for this platform NOW. (https://lnkd.in/eh-xQHCJ) I already did! I provided basic information and am thrilled knowing Dawn personally and the impact this will have, also knowing that my opinions will be shared with intentional brands. Her goal is 1,000 signups in 30 days and I know that WE as a community can help her reach that! SIGN UP HERE: https://lnkd.in/eh-xQHCJ *** If you want to learn more from Dawn about her work, she will also be speaking at our upcoming conference, Women Consulting Corporate Live! (https://lnkd.in/gTzBnAKN) Grab your ticket now so that you can be in the room! *** Dawn is an award-winning market researcher and thought leader who has been at the forefront of helping major brands understand the nuances of and positively engage with diverse consumers for over a decade. She has worked with over 100 brands from Fortune 500 companies, such as The Coca-Cola Company, Google, Procter & Gamble, LinkedIn, Mastercard, Uber, Disney, and many others. As a seasoned qualitative expert, Dawn has personally engaged with thousands of consumers across the globe, but she founded Mahogany Insights in 2021 with a focus on Black consumer insights. Her company specializes in helping clients identify and bridge their share, cultural, and/or relevancy gaps with Black consumers in order to drive more profit and topline growth. Most recently, Dawn founded a second company called Mahogany Minds LLC. Mahogany Minds offers a platform that facilitates market research between corporate / government clients and Black consumers. The goal of the platform is to elevate Black voices to create positive change in the way companies create more inclusive content, products, and services. Dawn credits her entrepreneurial success to niching down, coaching/support, focusing on impact over dollars, and having a clear positioning (thanks, Liz!). She is currently on track for her first 7-figure year - less than 3 years since starting her company and 2 years ahead of schedule. Prior to becoming a CEO, Dawn worked in corporate as a brand manager for Procter and Gamble and Frito-Lay. She holds a B.S. from Spelman College and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Dawn is also a single mom of a 5-year-old girl and lives in Dallas, TX.
