Compared to my previous workplace, my current workplace (especially my manager and team!) have supported me at work through my difficult journey. Here is how it’s made such a difference to me at work:
👉🏻 if i can only give 80%, I know they’ll help me with the extra 20%.
👉🏻 They’ve shown me empathy & kindess where before I received hostility & blame.
👉🏻 Now that WFH is an option to me(in my previous workplace it wasn’t), I don’t have to call in sick and carry that guilt- I can request to move or have an additional WFH day.
👉🏻 I feel empowered, knowing that there are companies & organisations who will support me, and others like me with this, at times, debilitating issue.
👉🏻 I have been able to educate my colleagues about endometriosis and how much it can affect not only the individual woman (or those assigned female at birth), but also their support network. Those from BAME backgrounds are more likely to have a tougher journey to diagnosis.
✊🏻 If you would like to support those with endometriosis, and other menstrual related conditions, in your workplace, then please take a look at the Endometriosis UK Endo Friendly Employer Scheme. 💛
Navigating endometriosis in the workplace can be tough, but a supportive workplace can make all the difference.
Our Endometriosis Friendly Employer Scheme is a way for employers confirm their commitment to developing a work environment and culture that enables employees with endometriosis to thrive at work.

A massive congratulations to all the companies and teams involved ! 👏
