M-Air-ina Air Show Was fortunate to witness this spectacular air show earlier today from our terrace. According to media reports, around 16 lakh people attended the show, entering in to Limca Book Of Records - India as the most witnessed open air show in the world. A lot of people also complained that ground transportation services didn’t live up to expectations while small hawkers and push carts selling water, cut fruits and other food items were removed around the beachfront to accommodate the rush. The Marina beachfront is among the most sparse ones compared to those around the world which doesn’t feature enough organised F&B retail outlets. Though there are a few hundred stalls on the beach road, they all are mostly unorganised and lack fundamental levels of hygiene. I remember during my days at Cafe Coffee Day I tried my best to build an organised F&B area with then then Mayor’s office - incidentally the current Chief Minister was the Mayor back then. Sadly, no such developments have happened in over a decade and a half, letting only the pushcarts & unorganised retail thrive. The lost opportunity week after week, with at least a lakh people visiting the Marina Beach during weekends and holidays is immense. 🌟 Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Change and Growth 🌟 As 2024 ended, I find myself reflecting on a year filled with significant changes and exciting challenges. In April, I embarked on a new journey, transitioning from my role Marketing in Savencia Dairy in Taiwan to manage Weiss Chocolate brand across the entire Asia Pacific market. This shift has brought about two major changes for me: 1/ Expanding Horizons: Managing a broader range of countries has meant more business travels and the opportunity to immerse myself in diverse markets and cultures. Each trip has been a learning experience, enriching both my professional and personal growth. 2/ Sales Focus: Moving into a more sales-oriented role has been both challenging and rewarding. I've had the chance to work closely with different distributors, understanding their unique needs and building strong partnerships to drive the brand's success in the region. However, this journey hasn't been without its challenges: 1/ Adapting to Different Market Profiles and Distributors: Each market has its own unique characteristics, and understanding these nuances has been crucial in effectively managing our operations. 2/ Cocoa Market Crisis: I took on this role during a time when cocoa prices were soaring like never before. Navigating through this crisis required strategic thinking and resilience. With the help and advice of my manager, Wedrychowski Wenceslas, and my colleagues, I was able to take steps forward and tackle these challenges head-on. Their support has been invaluable in this transition. New challenges await in 2025, but I am confident that with continued dedication and teamwork, everything will go for the better.
