Localization is not just about translation, it’s about training the different types of learners in each area. Across the globe, preferences and learning needs vary greatly. “While there are some clear geographical differences, generally we see an industry worried more about how to localize training content efficiently and ensure its quality than about the need to do it at all – reinforcing the view that the industry recognizes the value of localization in delivering better training results.” Localization is so important for businesses to implement. Luckily more businesses around the world are seeing and filling the need.

How can MTPE benefit you? The localization of software products is in increasing demand, and scaling change requires new tools in terms of speed, efficiency, and quality of the process. Translation remains the basis for localization in IT technology, and therefore, the dramatically increased role of machine translation post-editing (MTPE) in recent years is quite legitimate. Machine translation post-editing has gained a reputation as an effective localization tool. Without detracting from the value of human experience, the practice of using customized MT engines contributes significantly to the qualitative adaptation of the product. MTPE has proven itself in the following areas: - general content without a narrow technical focus and a lot of jargon; - fairly straightforward texts, including technical writing; - content for a limited audience, including the company’s internal needs and communications; - texts with meaning universal to most cultures and minimal need to adapt content to different cultural nuances of target markets. It does not mean that it is impossible to use MTPE for more complex and highly specialized content. In this case, the skills, knowledge, and expertise of a post-editor become more important. In BiLingoPlus, experienced professionals and native speakers who know how to adapt machine translation to the smallest detail, including cultural nuances and technical context, work on every project of their kind. Curious to explore further about MTPE and its potential advantages for your product? Feel free to reach out to us! #BiLingoPlus #translation #localization #software #language #MTPE

A major challenge in e-learning localization is delivering consistent learning experiences and outcomes (completions, pass rates, grades, etc.) for each language audience. The quality of your e-learning translations play a part to ensure everyone gets an equal opportunity. Translation quality is not only dependent on the skills of the linguist working on your project, but also the quality of your source files. Before starting to localize your e-learning materials, it is crucial to review your source text to ensure it is: 🎯 Clear and concise 🎯 Free of culture-specific examples 🎯 Does not contain jargon or slang This will help to make content easier and faster to translate, and thus easier for learners to understand. 📚 Just wrapped up the Localization Essentials Course by #Udacity! The course is well-organized, insightful, and helped me connect various pieces pf knowledge I had of the localization process. While I found many steps of the process appealing, translation remains my primary interest within the broader context of localization. 💡 The course got me thinking about the challenges translators face, especially when sometimes pressured to quickly translate clinical study materials. That perennial topic of deadlines 😣 I am guessing a hastily done translation can sometimes be salvaged during subsequent localization steps, such as editing and revision. However, this puts additional pressure on other links in the localization chain. Do you think rushed translations can be salvaged during subsequent localization steps? Have you had experience with it?🤔
