The CARISSMA Institute of Electric, Connected and Secure Mobility (C-ECOS), Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) University celebrates the acceptance of the ‘nExt geNeration 1200 V eLectric hIGH volTage powErtraiN (Enlighten)’ Project (Proposal number: 101192573), under Programme Horizon Europe (HORIZON). This Research and Innovation Actions project is planned for 48 months and is set to start in early 2025. The project “ENLIGHTEN aims at developing, integrating and testing a next generation post 800 V electric vehicle powertrain with an indicative voltage level of 1200 V. It targets a higher performing, cost optimized and more sustainable drivetrain layout that is also backwards compatible to the existing charging infrastructure with 1000 V or 500 V respectively”. Dr. Yash Kotak, the Technical Head of C-ECOS, Carissma led the proposal writing on behalf of THI with the guidance of Prof. Dr. Hans-Georg Schweiger (Project manager and the Head of C-ECOS, CARISSMA) and support from other team members. The ENLIGHTEN consortium includes 2 automotive companies, 1 Tier1 supplier and 2 SMEs. Their expertise is leveraged by the partnership with 2 research institutions and 4 academia/universities, constituting an ideal setup for strengthening the competitiveness of the European automotive industry.
