There are certain traits you want to look out for when thinking about joining an employer or team. Quartz reports that those teams embrace four mindsets: psychological safety, constructive conflict, enterprise value and stakeholder engagement. Effective psychological safety establishes a deeper mutual engagement with co-workers. Constructive conflict solves both/and outcomes. Enterprise value searches for win-win solutions that serve larger organizations. And, stakeholder engagement is participating in collaborative dialogue with colleagues. Feeling the sting of unexpected departures within your team? 😣 With the unsettling reality that 41% of UK employees waved goodbye to their jobs in 2023, and the prospect of this trend escalating, it's time to take action. Recent data from UK employers, forecasting potential attrition in 2024, reveals that a fifth of workers are teetering on the brink of departure within the next year, while an additional 12% see themselves leaving within two years. So, what's the solution to cutting this turnover rate by 30%? Simple: One-to-one meetings! (Yes, it's that straightforward.) But why are these regular catch-ups so powerful? ✅ They empower employees, providing a platform to openly discuss issues, confront challenges, and talk about their goals & aspirations. ✅ They fortify the company's performance through regular updates, ensuring alignment and productivity remain strong. ✅ They proactively manage employees' stress levels by addressing concerns and combatting pain points quickly. ✅ They can help instil trust and connection between team members and leaders, creating a supportive and collaborative work environment. So, say goodbye to those unstructured Teams/Zoom gatherings and embrace the positive impact of focused, one-on-one conversations! 💡 💭 Do you have regular one-to-one's with your team?

Is your team draining your business? Are you feeling the pain of a broken team? We all know that a messy team can be annoying. Here’s the thing though—it can also be a complete drain on your business! Here are some things you risk when you have a dysfunctional team: ➡️ Productivity Loss Everyone understands this one, right? A team that doesn’t work well together is inefficient. Poor dynamics slow down projects, leading to missed deadlines and lower productivity. For example, when team members don’t communicate well, tasks can get duplicated or forgotten, wasting valuable time. Lost productivity directly affects your bottom line through increased expenses (think hourly team member cost) and reduced revenue (less capacity for customers). ➡️ Team Happiness Low morale spreads like wildfire. When team members are unhappy, they’re less motivated and engaged. This lack of enthusiasm affects the whole team’s performance. I’ve seen teams where high stress and poor morale led to burnout and decreased job satisfaction. This is a recipe for poor work quality. No one gives their best when they're unhappy. ➡️ High Turnover Rates A messy team drives people away. High turnover rates mean more time and money spent on recruiting and training new help. For instance, it’s said that the cost of replacing an employee can be up to twice their annual salary when you factor in hiring costs and lost productivity. Now, things might not be as extreme when you’re talking about a team of contractors, but let’s not forget the drain on your time when you have to bring on someone new. So, obviously, there are definite pitfalls to an underperforming team. Here’s the thing though—most of the time, underperforming teams aren’t the symptom of “bad” team members. It’s usually a sign of bad systems and processes. Here are three areas to look at when you’re having team problems: The People: Do you have the right people in the right position doing the right things? The Systems: Do you have the right systems and processes in place to make your team successful? The Tools: Does your team have all the proper tools to do their jobs? Have more questions? 🔹WORK STYLES: Using Kolbe to navigate different work styles.🔹 Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your staff can be invaluable to the success of your business. If you know them, you can play to them - meaning you can utilise your team far more effectively and allow them to thrive in their roles. It means you can challenge them effectively by assigning tasks that will play to their skillsets or ways of working, and allow them to grow and develop in ways that they might not have been able to otherwise. It means that you can fill gaps in the team to allow for a more cohesive work environment, and it allows you make sure that you’ve got the right people in the right seats. A team member who is underperforming in one role might flourish in another, but without the ‘behind the scenes’ knowledge - you’ll struggle to identify what the problem is and how to solve it. That’s what Kolbe does - it helps you to draw back the curtain and gain a better understanding of how to use your team more effectively. Who couldn’t do with that in their business?!

Hey everyone! 🙌 I've been a little quiet on social media lately but that's because I have been busy behind the scenes helping out a client in need. Over the last few months, I have had the privilege of working with an incredible long standing client in a managerial role. They were knee-deep in responsibilities and deadlines, and their team desperately needed an extra pair of hands whilst recruitment was taking place for a permanent manger. With their plate overflowing, my client turned to me for support in the interim, and together, we embarked on a journey of growth and efficiency. 🚀 🤝 Here's how I lent a hand: 1️⃣ Streamlined processes to boost team productivity whilst giving stability to the team. 2️⃣ Cleared the backlog of pending tasks. 3️⃣ Provided invaluable insights during the recruitment process. 4️⃣ Maintained open communication to ensure a smooth transition. Through collaboration, dedication, and hard work, we not only held the fort but also set the stage for their new team member's seamless integration. 🤝🚀 Today, I'm thrilled to say that our efforts paid off! 🎉 They found the perfect addition to their team, and are looking forward to the future they can build together. This experience reminds me of the incredible impact teamwork and support can have on an organisation's journey. 💪💼 If you're facing a similar challenge or need a helping hand in your professional journey, I'm here for you.
