4 things that you can do today to improve your performance as an EA: 1️⃣ Sit down and grab your to do list. Open your project management dashboard and calendar, draw the Eisenhower matrix (Urgent/Important), and ask yourself: 🧠What tasks reflect my core responsibilities based on my job description? What am I focusing on that shouldn’t be on my plate? and whose plate is it? 🧠What meetings and commitments am I invited to where I’m not needed? 🧠Do I have enough focus blocks, or too many back-to-back meetings? 2️⃣ Test out a walk-in hour one morning or afternoon a week, where your team members can request time to discuss stuff with you. This way you can start reducing fluffy meetings today! 3️⃣ Schedule 3x feedback calls with peers and someone from your team. Ask them what they think your priorities as CXO should be and what they expect from you. Compare this to your findings from Point 1. 4️⃣ Focus on leading by example. Because the behavior you model at the top will be adopted across the company. So make sure you take your lunch break and fix a hard stop for your working day. Once you understand what gives you energy and what drains it, you can more easily hire the right people to delegate what isn’t within your wheelhouse!
