Youth football is a beloved American pastime, but it's not without its concerns, particularly regarding concussions. The young players' developing brains are more susceptible to the effects of head injuries, making concussion prevention and management crucial. Despite efforts to improve safety through rule changes and better equipment, youth football still sees a significant number of concussions each year. These injuries not only impact players' immediate health but can also have long-term consequences, including cognitive impairment and mental health issues. Parents, coaches, and league organizers must prioritize player safety by implementing proper training techniques, enforcing rules to minimize head contact, and ensuring prompt medical evaluation of any suspected concussions. Additionally, educating young athletes about the signs and risks of concussions empowers them to speak up and seek help when needed. By taking proactive measures to prevent and address concussions, youth football can continue to be a positive and enriching experience for young players while safeguarding their long-term well-being. #health #tennis #Redoakintruments #injury #newmedicaldevice #monitor #detect #concussions #noninvasive #Hipaacompliant #MadeinAmerica #shoulderpain #Lowerbackpain #injuries

📢 Fresh from the press!⚽️ 🚀 Our latest publication is out, shedding light on the training habits of female football players during different microcycle lengths. 🌟 Check out the findings in our new study published in PLOS ONE: https://lnkd.in/dQjeDDhP 🔍 Main Findings: Loading patterns resemble a pyramid or skewed pyramid during longer cycle lengths (5–7 days). Higher training loads were observed towards the middle compared to the start and end of the cycle. Non-starters displayed slightly higher loads on MD+2, with no significant load differentiation from MD-5 onwards. 👩🔬 This research offers valuable insights into periodization and training strategies tailored for female football players, paving the way for optimized performance and injury prevention. 🏃♀️💪 Kudos to the great Andreas Kjæreng Winther for collecting and analyzing all this data🥂 STATSports Svein Arne Pettersen João Brito Ivan Baptista Morten Bredsgaard Randers Dag Johansen 🤝

During major football tournaments like the #Euros, incidents of #DomesticAbuse soar. So, we’re kicking off our brand-new campaign, #ChildrenKeepTheScore, to highlight the impact of domestic abuse on families during this time. Research from Warwick Business School revealed that domestic abuse by partners increased by 47% on the day England won a World Cup or European Championship match, with reports of cases involving alcohol 18% higher than average. By addressing the relationship between football and domestic abuse - and promoting positive behaviours - Children Keep the Score aims to create a safer environment for families during the Euros 2024 and beyond. Together, let’s pitch for change and ensure that #Football is enjoyed by all children and families – whether in stadiums, on pitches, in the community or in homes. I recently discussed with a senior coach at a premier rugby union club the benefits of club academies and what happens to release players. He told me that many of the players leave due to injury or do not make the grade, and the success rate was low. From the available stats from a wide range of sports academies, the success rate is low 95% failure as in football academies, with injury rates, including mental health issues high. The question we asked ourselves was "Why do clubs and NGBs run academies when they have consistently failed?"
