Singapore's regulatory authority, Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has, in CNB Circular Reference No: CNB/227A, May 29, 2024, updated substances under HS 29329900, to Part 1 of the Third Schedule of the Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA) 1973. The newly added substances in Para 2 of the Circular include: a) Ethyl 3-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-2-methyl-2-oxiranecarboxylate also known as 3,4-MDP-2-P methyl glycidic acid, ethyl ester;  == Others, please see the Circular == This is effective June 1, 2024. With the inclusion of the new substances to the Third Schedule of the MDA 1973, the #manufacture, #supply, #possession, import or export is strictly #prohibited. The synthetic opiate fentanyl has become the number one killer of Americans under 45. Every year, approximately 100,000 people die from addiction. 90% of the chemical intermediates that produce fentanyl come from China. Raw materials mainly arrive at one port on Mexico's west coast, the port of Manzanillo. The Manzanillo International Terminal is not operated by a Mexican company. It is also not run by an American company. It is run by a Chinese company. That's why it's so difficult for them to stop the flow of deadly substances. Raw materials from the port of Manzanillo go to "factories" in northern Mexico, where a deadly cocktail is created. According to the US Department of Homeland Security, approximately 2,000 Chinese citizens are involved on the ground in helping drug cartels. Unfortunately, new developments in today's Fiji meth bust align with the concerns I discussed in my previous tweet. Pharmacies and other businesses that can source precursors must be tightly regulated as there is a distinct possibility that this batch (which looks like low-grade meth - not cooked properly or lacking key chemicals) has been produced in Fiji for Aus / NZ markets with overflow to smaller Pacific markets. Fentanyl is a poison that is afflicting every community in this country. This poison is synthetic opioid, 50 times more potent than heroin and 100 times more potent than morphine. Just 2 milligrams equal to 10 to 15 grains of salt is enough to be lethal. It is vital to understand the essential role that China plays in the fentanyl crisis. China is the primary source of the know-how and illicit materials that Mexican cartels use to manufacture lethal synthetic opioids.
