#VBHC In Poland In Poland, there is a growing interest in patient-focused models of care, which is part of a broader trend in global medicine. The Ministry of Health and the National Health Fund are taking steps to gradually introduce elements of value-based medicine into the system, although this process is still under development. The implementation of value-based medicine in Poland currently includes various initiatives and pilot projects, often carried out in cooperation with the private sector, scientific institutions and patient organizations. Examples include pilot programs for coordinated care for patients with specific conditions, which place the patient at the center of the healthcare system and the cost-effectiveness of treatments. Full implementation of the VBHC model in the Polish healthcare system requires organisational, systemic and cultural changes, which includes, among others, the introduction of appropriate tools for measuring health outcomes, IT systems enabling the exchange of data between various entities of the health system, as well as the remodelling of the healthcare financing system so that it promotes high quality and cost-effectiveness. On March 7-8, 2024, MUL representatives took part in the largest Health Challenges Conference in Poland, where a lot of space was devoted to the implementation of patient-centered and value-centered care. In conversations with the participants of the Congress, we presented the assumptions and goals of the HL4V project. Historic moment regarding health data for all citizens and patients in Europe! stay tuned for next actions, perhaps in small steps but a very big footprint for closing the huge health data gap! Easy and fast being the key words here. The EIT Health Scandinavia report on the EHDS implementation https://lnkd.in/dXRjzigj #EHDS #healthdata #patientempowerment
🌐 With the #EHDS Europe takes one step closer to improving patient care by making it easier and faster for patients to access and control their health data and for data to be used to drive healthcare innovation. 🏛️ The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union have now reached a provisional agreement on the European Health Data Space (EHDS), a new regulation making it easier to exchange and access health data at the EU level. The agreement will now need to be endorsed by both the Council and the Parliament. 🔑 Once the law is in effect, key actors including policymakers, health data access bodies, healthcare service providers, health institutions, higher education providers, patient organisations and the digital medical devices industry will have a vital role to play in implementing the regulation-making its bold vision a reality. 📖 Interested in how this can be implemented in the Benelux? In December we published a report based on a Roundtable discussion with stakeholders, policymakers, and healthcare professionals from Belgium, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands. The expert panel discussed the readiness, challenges, and opportunities for implementing the EHDS in their respective national healthcare systems outlining recommendations for both national and EU policymakers to move forward with the EHDS in the Benelux: https://bit.ly/3TnyFZj 👉 A pan-European report, which draws insights from our Roundtable Series across Europe, will be launched at the EIT Health Summit in Rotterdam on April 18. Recording now available! 🔴 ⤵️ Experts gathered in our #OBSwebinars series to reflect on the challenges faced by hospitals today and to discuss what we can learn for future reform. 1️⃣ Reform is an ongoing process. Centralization and quality management combined with tight guidelines works in some services, whereas for others the solution is data-driven process, nurturing a professional culture of evaluation. The Danish model tries to factor in these aspects, as shown by keynote Karsten Vrangbæk, Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen (🇩🇰). 2️⃣ In his presentation of the Estonian Person-Centered Integrated Hospital Master Plan, Agris Koppel (East-Tallinn Central Hospital, 🇪🇪) outlined important elements for the future of integrated care: 🚸 matching social & medical services 💰 new financing models 🔎 new skill-sets for health personnel 📲 e-health integration. 3️⃣ Hospitals must be given resources - technical, human or financial - to support the transition to the integrated care model, explains Karine Chevreul (Inserm, 🇫🇷) while presenting the French GHT reform. 4️⃣ Our Research Director Reinhard Busse (Technische Universität Berlin, 🇩🇪) discussed the proposed reform for the German hospital sector. He highlighted the importance of a needs-based model, one where health services are grouped together based on specific & minimum requirements, and where financing is distributed per service-group. 👐 All experts reiterated a key aspect when considering reform: always have in mind the patient perspective. Both the data and the reform project should include clinical and patient experienced value. 📌 Watch the full recording: https://lnkd.in/dAy5zuu6 📚 Discover all country-based & related publications on the event page: https://lnkd.in/dnvZEW6N 🔔 Stay up to date with future webinars: https://lnkd.in/dEhGTPEn
