In our quest for unmatched educational excellence, a crucial question arises: How can #TalentCorp support local universities in ensuring that their educational programs develop graduates with the critical skills and competencies needed for the constantly changing global job market? Further exploring this theme—how can Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp) , as the national talent agency, act as a bridge between the aspirations of local universities for global rankings (QS and THE) and the real-world success of graduates, thus enhancing the academic prowess and reputation of Malaysian universities? Drawing on my extensive understanding of the challenges faced by universities, I orchestrated an engagement session between TalentCorp, the ASEAN Accounting Educators Workgroup (AAEW), and local universities. This session was designed to promote game changing initiatives. In this role, TalentCorp emerges as the key connector, with AAEW acting as the intermediary and #MyNext serving as the empowering platform for Malaysian universities. Malaysian universities, aiming to improve their global positions, will discover that our holistic strategy marks a pivotal shift. This strategy is comprised of: 1. International Exchange Program: Aiming to enhance global mobility for students and faculty, our objective is to foster cross-cultural competencies and international exposure, thereby elevating the global appeal of Malaysian higher education. 2. Interdisciplinary Co-Teaching: Encouraging teaching across universities helps foster a well-rounded knowledge base and innovative thinking, crucial for addressing global issues. 3. Joint Research Initiatives: Our support for collaborative research endeavors aims to spur innovation and contribute to the global knowledge base, thereby elevating the scholarly standing of Malaysian institutions. This initiative goes beyond achieving academic accolades; it's centered on producing graduates who are not only critical thinkers and innovators but also equipped with the power skills demanded by today's job market. By elevating our educational standards across the board, we significantly contribute to preparing future-ready graduates. TalentCorp extends its deepest appreciation to Professor Dr. Rozainun Ab Aziz, President of AAEW, for her paramount role in bringing ASEAN universities for today's dialogue. Her leadership and foresight have been indispensable. I also want to express my gratitude towards the ASEAN Deans and visionary educators who participated in today's session. The landscape of education is evolving, with contrasting trends emerging between African nations and developed countries. While many Africans are perceived to prioritize the acquisition of degrees as a means of advancing their careers and socioeconomic status, developed countries are increasingly shifting their focus towards skills training and fostering innovation. In Africa, the pursuit of degrees is often deeply ingrained in cultural and societal norms. Obtaining a degree is seen as a pathway to success and is highly valued as a symbol of knowledge and prestige. However, this traditional approach to education is being challenged by the changing demands of the global economy. Conversely, developed countries are recognizing the importance of equipping their citizens with practical skills and fostering innovation to remain competitive in the modern world. Governments, educational institutions, and businesses are investing heavily in vocational training programs, apprenticeships, and initiatives aimed at cultivating creativity and entrepreneurship. This shift towards skills training and innovation reflects a recognition of the changing nature of work and the need for a workforce that is adaptable, flexible, and equipped with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy. Moreover, it underscores the importance of practical, hands-on learning experiences that empower individuals to apply their knowledge in real-world settings. As the world continues to progress, it is essential for African nations to strike a balance between traditional academic pursuits and the cultivation of practical skills and innovation. By embracing a holistic approach to education that combines academic excellence with hands-on learning and entrepreneurial spirit, African countries can position themselves for success in the 21st century and beyond.

At Honoris, we believe that capacity building in high-growth employability sectors is critically important for prepping our students for the jobs of tomorrow. Knowing this, we are proud to report that, in total, our STEM enrolments grew from 20,400 in 2021 to 30,240 in 2022, a marked increase of 48%. We believe that this increase is thanks to the collective mission of our institutions to widen access to transformative education across the continent. Excited to Share My IVLP Journey: Unveiling the Power of Public-Private Partnerships! I am thrilled to share a transformative experience I've had as part of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). Over the past weeks, I had the privilege to represent Pakistan and engaging with academia, think tanks, and corporates from US and delving deep into the realm of private sector engagement/PPPs. **Key Lessons Learned: ** 1. Collaboration Amplifies Impact:  Through interactions with professionals and experts across diverse sectors, I've witnessed the incredible potential of PPPs to drive innovation and solve complex challenges. The synergy created by the collaboration between public and private sectors is undeniably impactful. 2. Shared Vision, Shared Success: The heart of successful PPPs lies in a shared vision for a better future. When both public and private entities align their goals and expertise, the outcomes are not only more impactful but also sustainable in the long run. 3. Resilience in Diversity: Embracing diverse perspectives is a catalyst for creativity and resilience. The IVLP experience emphasized on best practices in energy and infrastructure, public policy, debate, ideas, and the importance of inclusivity in PPPs, allowing for well-rounded solutions that cater to the needs of various stakeholders. 4. Transparency and Trust: Open communication and trust-building are essential cornerstones of any successful partnership. Transparent dialogue fosters stronger relationships and ensures that everyone is on the same page, working towards a common goal. As I reflect on my IVLP journey, I'm invigorated to apply these lessons in my professional journey. I am more convinced than ever that harnessing the power of PPPs will not only drive innovation but also bring about positive social and economic change especially in developing world.
