12 months ago, we were nothing but an idea, some designs, and a pitch deck.   I went out and raised capital and got a fair share of no’s before I got my first yes.   6 months ago, we 'soft’ launched. We shipped early, and I mean super early, we launched with only a couple of features barely working and a bunch of bugs.   Since then, it’s been pedal to the metal. We’ve gone from strength to strength.   Building, testing, measuring, and creating something that will truly make a difference.   We’ve proven our hypothesis that Kiwis need better tools to empower them to be better with money, not just for budgeting but from their first paycheck to their pension.   Now it’s time to deliver on that. The product roadmap is stacked, the marketing calendar is full and we’re ready to go 🙌🏻   It’s been a massive team effort, so i’ve got to give a special shout-out to the legends who have been instrumental in getting us to where we are today, and we’re only just getting started.   Simon Rolland for believing in the mission and vision from day one, always pushing the status quo and bringing new ideas and directions to the table. All of this definitely wouldn’t be possible without you.   Bradley Kirkland for bringing this idea to life from the tech side, taking care of the technical nuts and bolts, and driving the vision forward with the team to build this beast.   Josh Daniell and the Akahu team, for being the leaders of change in the NZ Fintech ecosystem and unlocking the ability for Kiwis to securely and safely have control of their data and utilise it with apps like BudgetBuddie.   Our early adopters, a massive shoutout to you all for all your feedback and for hanging in there while we’ve been building this from the ground up. There's sort of a sad truth to this post. Even on my first gig, when I'd tried to break in, I recall a director getting annoyed explaining what "camera left" meant. 1. Anatomy. Do you really know it? REALLY? 2. All 5 axes of a camera head on a moving camera boom arm, (like for car commercials) Do you REALLY KNOW THEM? REALLY? 3. Do you know the industry expectations for shooting vs presentation, vs animation vs tv boards? REALLY? 4. Do you know spelling and grammar? Most people do pick up on those. 5. Are you running a stolen torrent old version of adobe CC or a legit copy with all features enabled? 6. Can you share messages and files smoothly because your OS recognizes the producer teams OS? 7. Do you have internet. Reasonable speed? These aren't crazy asks. It just goes to show that the trade of storyboarding is a bit like Pirates of old. Anyone can claim to be one, but only a few survive. Really kids, this person, while they are obviously losing their S$*%T is clearly TELLING YOU the expectations. Most times you won't hear a word about what they truly want until it's too late.

A leader of leaders... the moment you take this responsibility lightly is the moment you fail to see the true potential you have to build dreams into reality. Not just for the companies you work for but the people who work for you.
