Today I had the pleasure to co-present with Michigan Department of Transportation on their first state-wide Carbon Reduction Strategy per the IIJA/BIL Carbon Reduction Program at the MDOT-ACEC Partnering Workshop. The infographic below is one of my favorites from the presentation highlighting that initial construction of public and multi-modal infrastructure has a higher emissions footprint, however, once constructed new rail and bus rapid transit projects can be offset by the lower carbon emissions associated with the increased use of public transportation and decrease in single-occupancy vehicles. This morning we attended the launch of the Construction Leadership Council's Five Client Carbon Commitments. Construction is a significant contributor to the UK's carbon emissions, and it is time for us to take action 🌲 . CO2nstruct Zero is calling upon clients to act with the launch of the Five Client Carbon Commitments – simple, practical steps that organisations can take to show how they are reducing their carbon emissions and by when. The Five Client Carbon Commitments are: 1)Procure for low carbon construction and provide incentives in our contracts 2) Set phase out dates for fossil fuel use 3)Eliminate the most carbon intensive concrete products 4)Eliminate the most carbon intensive steel products 5) Adopt PAS 2080, Carbon Management in Infrastructure, as a common standard Six organisations have taken the bold step to be the first to sign up – strong leadership has been shown by Anglian Water Services, Heathrow, Lower Thames Crossing, National Highways, NWG (Northumbrian Water Group) and Sellafield Ltd – and invite other organisations to join them. #netzero #decarbonisation Turner & Townsend https://lnkd.in/eaevUY7y

The Northwest Parkway, with its 14 kilometers, is not just a road: it is a vital artery that connects several important economic, tourist and residential areas of Denver. Its strategic position makes it a key component in the transportation network of one of the most dynamic states in the United States. The Northwest Parkway is much more than just a road. It is a high-performance infrastructure with solid growth potential. With ongoing real estate developments and the upcoming beltway expansion that will completely encircle Denver, the section is poised for increased traffic, promising increased revenues for years to come. One of the major advantages of this acquisition is the remaining duration of the concession, which runs until 2106. With 83 years remaining, it is the longest duration in the highway sector in the United States, offering VINCI stability. and exceptional long-term financial visibility. VINCI Highways does not intend to rest on its laurels. The company plans to use its experience acquired in other projects in the United States to optimize the management of Northwest Parkway. The objective? Improve the user experience and journey reliability through innovations such as variable tolling, while reinternalizing certain services to reduce costs.
