In this interview I visit with seasoned energy industry vet Ed Kovalik, these days the Chairman and C.E.O. of Prairie Operating Co. (NASD-PROP.) Prairie--which obtained its Nasdaq listing right before this past Christmas--has garnered attention, in part, due to its strategy of buying accretive energy assets in what we call a "sweet spot" in the market/industry right now. Here' you'll learn about both Prairie's core assets it launched with in 2023 and its latest impressive acquisition; this all together with its growth and looming plans for added development and production. Beyond all this--and solidifying the investment case for Prairie specifically--Ed and Chris also add some key insights on the internal dynamics and pricing of energy to underscore just how out of whack things are…and to reinforce our mutual argument that fossil fuels are not only here to stay for quite some time but that the present represents another great opportunity for long-term investors to load up on "Old Energy."

A productive conversation requires listening and understanding multiple perspectives of an issue. The importance of clean water cannot be overstated, however, neither can the importance of domestic minerals needed to power our everyday lives. Minnesotans must strike the balance between reasonable consumption, responsible mining, and protecting our natural resources. PBS North Almanac North recently interviewed MiningMinnesota Executive Director Julie Lucas to discuss whether the proposed ‘Prove It First’ legislation is necessary to protect water in Minnesota. “Minnesota has the regulations in place to develop new mining projects. We just have to ensure that our agencies are empowered to do their jobs, make decisions and keep companies accountable. We are addressing ‘Prove It First’ by talking to people about what current regulations we already have and what engineering has been done in other places because there are copper-nickel mines operating throughout the entire world and we can learn those lessons from them.” Watch, listen & learn: The discussion starts at 48:58 with the Executive Director of Friends of the Boundary Waters and MiningMinnesota commentary starts at 51:19. Responsibly powering our nation’s future will require a collaborative, good faith effort between parties approaching the conversation from different POVs. MiningMinnesota believes that Minnesotans are ready for the nuanced conversations needed for a sustainable future driven by minerals. https://lnkd.in/gaBG_C5k

In this video industry leaders share how Connected Competence reduces duplication of assessment costs, speeds up deployment of competent personnel between sites, but most importantly, increases safety through the recognition and ongoing assurance of base technical competence.
Hear from industry leaders across the oil and gas sector on why they signed up to Connected Competence and why they support this industry-led approach to assuring a base standard for technical competence. Connected Competence is now mandated by major service companies including Aker Solutions, Bilfinger UK, Global E&C, Petrofac, Ponticelli UK, Semco Maritime, Stork, Wood and Worley. Together, they employ more than 75% of the craft and technician workforce in the UKCS upstream oil and gas industry. Apache Corporation, bp, Centrica Energy Storage +, CNOOC International, Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL), Dana Petroleum Limited, Eni, Equinor, Harbour Energy, INEOS Energy, Neo Energy, Neptune Energy, Repsol, RockRose Energy, Serica Energy plc, Shell, Spirit Energy, TAQA Group and TotalEnergies have all signed the Connected Competence Client Charter. This is a formal commitment to recognise and promote Connected Competence as the industry base standard for technical competence assurance and include this in supply chain contracting strategies. #Safety #EnergySkills #OilAndGas #ConnectedCompetence #leadership #SkillsTransition #EngineeringConstruction #skills #TechnicalStandards
