I'm reaching out to my network today with a cause that's both urgent and close to my heart. From now until February 25th, we have a unique opportunity to support two incredible organizations: Black Mental Health Canada & BlackNorth Initiative.
They're doing critical work in addressing the mental health needs of diverse Black communities and dismantling anti-Black systemic racism across all aspects of life.
Black Mental Health Canada is on the frontline, offering a range of programs tailored to address the mental health challenges faced by Black Canadians. From providing culturally sensitive counseling services to advocating for systemic changes in the mental health care system, BMHC's efforts are crucial. Their work acknowledges the complex interplay between mental health and the experiences of oppression, anti-Black racism, and racial trauma. I encourage you to visit https://lnkd.in/gYPPNkZg to explore their programs and find out how you can contribute further to their cause.
The BlackNorth Initiative is transforming the landscape for Black Canadians by tackling anti-Black systemic racism head-on. Through educational programs, advocacy, and a commitment to creating inclusive spaces in the business world and beyond, BlackNorth is laying the groundwork for a more equitable future. Their approach includes mentoring, scholarships, and strategic initiatives aimed at removing systemic barriers. How can we help? By simply donating our empties or cash at any The Beer Store location, we can contribute to these causes. Every container and dollar donated will be evenly split between BMHC and the BlackNorth Initiative.
This campaign hits close to home for me, not just as a professional in the field of DEIB but as someone who believes in the power of community and the importance of mental health. It's a reflection of how small actions can lead to significant impacts.
I encourage you all to join me in this initiative. Let's use our collective power to support these organizations in their vital work. Your empties can make a huge difference!
