One Health recognizes the interconnection between people, animals, plants, and their shared environment, and although it has gained significant political traction since the COVID-19 pandemic, there is still a lack of awareness of the public health and sustainable development benefits of good animal health and welfare. This translates into low budget allocations to animal health activities in government-led One Health alliances. One Health framework is needed nationally to ensure equitable resource distribution and effective coordination and collaboration. Have you ever wondered what influences a cat's chance for adoption? If yes, then check out our new collaborative project with Megha Bhande (Bagal)! Using EDA and machine learning's Logistic Regression, Decision Trees and Random Forests we examined animals' survivability and predicted adoption chances for a no-kill shelter in Long Beach, California.
