How can you make an impact in a young girls life today? As International Women’s day is fast approaching, we are reminded that as we empower girls, they are better positioned to become women that positively contribute to the advancement of their communities. Here are five simple ways you and I can empower a young girl today⬇️: 1. Boost her confidence through encouragement, showing belief in her abilities and potential. 2. Lead by example, demonstrating kindness and resilience as a positive role model she can emulate. 3. Support her interests in various fields like STEM, sports, or art, nurturing her passions and talents. 4. Volunteer to speak to young girls in schools, sharing your experiences and inspiring them to pursue their dreams. 5. Donate educational materials, even small items like pencils, to provide resources that can empower her learning journey. Which action will you take today? #SociaImpact #QualityEducationForAll #GirlsInStem

As a nonprofit organization, we would be nothing without our volunteers 💜. Let’s face it, the world of STEM is vast. So in order to show youth what all is possible, we rely on STEM professionals to share about their careers, career paths, and lead workshops with STEM activities. Sometimes they’re STEM professionals, sometimes they’re graduate students still working on earning their title, or even in some cases we have folks step in to facilitate STEM activities with no STEM background. They just have a heart for wanting to do good in the community. As a youth-serving nonprofit, we believe that children are our future. It’s safe to say that the people who volunteer with us also share a strong belief in this because of the time and talents that they give. Whether volunteering virtually or in-person, we are thankful for the awesome people who cross paths with our org! Our work is in connecting, inspiring, and empowering the next-G in STEM. We believe just one interaction CAN leave an impression on a child’s life. We call it planting seeds 🌱. Want to join us in supporting youth in their STEM learning and development? Well, as a Black-led nonprofit, we are stoked to be part of the Young, Black and Giving Back Institute’s Give 8/28 Day, supporting black-led and black-benefiting nonprofits. 🖤 Donate to our org between August 21-28 to support our work. 🫱🏿🫲🏽 Stay tuned as we share more about how our mission gets achieved and the importance of Give 8/28 Day! Neurodiversity Navigator. Inclusion Instigator. Access Advocate. Energetic Educator. Passionate Presenter. Witty Writer.
Gosh, she's done it again. I'm such a super fan of Caeley Looney and what she has created with Reinvented Magazine! Each issue is jam-packed with affirming messaging about women and Enby identities in STEM. As a mom of a 12-year-old who is starting to notice that tween magazines are focused on make-up, aesthetics, and pop culture, I am grateful Caeley is challenging that narrative by showcasing women in fields predominantly represented as "masculine." The magazine alone is incredible- so grab that!! but I just learned the "2024 Princesses in Power Tools" calendar is now available, too! The calendar features 12 women/Enby individuals in STEM photographed in their actual careers. Why hire "models" when we have real models all around! You can order a calendar for yourself or sponsor a calendar for a teacher that has requested one for their classroom! (Pro tip: you can even choose a teacher from your state!!) This is a no-brainer! I have no doubts that one day, I'm going to open the calendar and see someone- or multiple someones- from Rewriting the Code in the pages! I can't wait! Let's reinvent the representation of women in STEM! Check out Reinvented Magazine and follow Caeley (who is also an Engineer, btw!) for more information! https://lnkd.in/eetYjewe #OrderedOne #SponsoredOne #WomeninSTEM #WomeninTech #InclusioninTech #WomenEngineers
