How the Gen Z is leading The Future of Non-Profit and its Entrepreneurial and Empowering! 2 weeks ago I was pleased to announce that I had been selected as the newest member of PlanBørnefonden Denmark Youth Advisory Board. At the onboarding meeting that lasted 2 hours, I got an insight into the mission, vision, strategy and core values. The Strategy: Girls Driving Impact for Tomorrow! We at plan are on a mission to secure children and the youths right and to create equal opportunities no matter their gender. We want to be the organisation, that unites Danes in the fight for vulnerable girls and young girls and women equality. Did you know that for every year a girl attends school her lifetime income increases by 12%. We know for a fact that educated girls don’t just provide for their family but contributes to the economy as well. That’s why Plan focuses on their education, but employment and business opportunities as well. We want the kids and youth to be self reliant over the long term. Which is one of our main goals: We want to deliver a NEXT GENERATION SPONSOPSHIP, by developing products that attracts the GEN Z. I am therefore honored to be a part of such a modern and new-gen organisation and looking forward to achieve new height and set new examples for the whole Non-Profit industries. #genz #girlpower #education #nonprofit #empowerment #entrepreneurship

Results-oriented Account Manager with 17+ years building strong client relationships, driving business growth, and implementing successful return-to-work programs in the workers’ compensation industry.
🌟 Embracing Challenges and Uplifting Women: My Personal Journey 🌟 As a passionate advocate for equality and inclusion, I believe in the transformative power of determination and the importance of uplifting economically challenged communities. Together, we can make a difference. Growing up in a financially strained environment, poverty cast a shadow on my aspirations. I left school at 17, convinced that school, mostly math wasn't meant for me. Despite not having a college degree, I found success in my career. However, the road was tougher, and I faced numerous missed opportunities for career growth. I strongly believe in the intelligence and potential of individuals without formal degrees. Yet, in today's tech-driven world, doors can close solely based on the absence of a degree on a resume, even before a human sees it. Two years ago, I embarked on a personal mission. Not for career advancement, but to challenge my own beliefs. I returned to school, fulfilling a dream of that young girl who once thought she wasn't smart enough for college. This last semester, I faced algebra head-on. It was tough, but I passed with determination and hard work. My journey is ongoing; I haven't completed my degree yet. But I'm more determined than ever to continue. It's a testament to the power of perseverance and the willingness to challenge oneself, regardless of past setbacks. Let's not forget those who might not come across posts on platforms like LinkedIn but are struggling every day for opportunities due to limited resources or access to education. We can make a difference by supporting nonprofits that empower women through education. Here are some favorite charities supporting female education: - Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation - CAMFED - Share & Care - School Girls Unite - Friendship Bridge - Care - Malala Fund - Step Up - Girls Who Code - She’s The First Find out more about them here https://lnkd.in/ed79VwWJ Let's unite to uplift these communities and bridge the gap for those determined to succeed against all odds. Together, let's champion determination and support those striving for a better future. 💪🌍 #Determination #EmpowerCommunities #Perseverance

How can you make an impact in a young girls life today? As International Women’s day is fast approaching, we are reminded that as we empower girls, they are better positioned to become women that positively contribute to the advancement of their communities. Here are five simple ways you and I can empower a young girl today⬇️: 1. Boost her confidence through encouragement, showing belief in her abilities and potential. 2. Lead by example, demonstrating kindness and resilience as a positive role model she can emulate. 3. Support her interests in various fields like STEM, sports, or art, nurturing her passions and talents. 4. Volunteer to speak to young girls in schools, sharing your experiences and inspiring them to pursue their dreams. 5. Donate educational materials, even small items like pencils, to provide resources that can empower her learning journey. Which action will you take today? #SociaImpact #QualityEducationForAll #GirlsInStem

It’s officially 2 days to the end of our mentorship donation drive at CAWSTEM. In 2023, we kicked off a targeted mentorship and program for early-career STEM women (We had put it off for 2-3 years and finally braved the odds). We’ve now made it a yearly goal to continue this program and empower early-career STEM women. For each mentee accepted to the program, we connect them to mentors in their fields, link them with career coaches and help them become job ready through capacity building. We also provide data stipends so they can stay connected throughout the program. Our reason is simple. Despite making up half of the world’s population, there’s still a wide gender gap across several sectors. Current statistics reveal that globally, women constitute only 28% of STEM professionals. Women face a range of challenges in navigating their careers including accessing resources, finance, finding support, role models, and overcoming impostor syndrome. Addressing gender equity therefore requires a multifaceted approach centered around capacity building, mentorship and community. For this year's cohort, we're working with 30 early-career STEM women from 6 countries over a 7-month training-to-job program. Join us to make a meaningful difference. Sponsor a mentee today by making a $50 minimum donation to support our cause. https://lnkd.in/e6EKmUzC Your support will provide aspiring STEM professionals with the resources and guidance they need to succeed. Let's change the narrative about #gendergap together! #CAWSTEM #GetMatched #SponsorAMentee #WomenEmpowerment #Donation #WomeninSTEM #ProfessionalDevelopment

What are some challenges faced by first-generation women in the United States? ▪️Limited Familial Guidance: First-gen women may lack guidance from parents who are unfamiliar with the U.S. education and career systems. ▪️Cultural Barriers: Navigating cultural differences can be challenging, impacting their ability to assimilate and communicate effectively. ▪️Underrepresentation: The lack of representation and role models in many fields may impede one's professional goals. ▪️Educational Disparities: Systemic disparities can make it difficult for first-generation women to gain access to quality educational opportunities. This week on our member spotlight we would like to highlight one of our youngest & exceptional members’ Chinazam Igwe ✨ Chinazam Igwe is a grade 10 student who strongly believes that youth are changemakers of today not just tomorrow and she consistently embodies that through her advocacy work . Recently honored as one of Canada's top 10 u18 changemakers by the charity - Children First Canada , her engagements with non-profit sector include working full time last summer at Brilliant Labs teaching kids coding and other digital skills as well as leading projects that align with Un's sustainable development goals . Zammie is also on track to launch her own non-profit focusing on empowering racialized and newcomer high school students in atlantic canada starting with New Brunswick mobilizing and upskilling to become emerging leaders and changemakers poised to make an impact not just in the future but Now. In her words "WNN is important to me because as the data shows while many non-profits target female identifying individuals due to disparities as is higlighted by SDG's 5 . We see that there aren't many leadership roles by women and even far less reprisentation of females of color and many women remain underrepresented . The non-profit sector brings many valuable contributions enabling a more equitable and sustainable society . Hence networks like this are essential to make sure we as women come together and are enabled to change the face of leadership in the sector allowing for wide-spread impact on communities that need it the most." #Volunteer #youthchangemaker #educatekids #sustainablesociety
