I’ve shared a lot about the importance of employer brand and social recruitment, so let’s talk about what that looks like in practice. First, let’s talk topics. You can post about things like employee testimonials, company events, DEI initiatives, your killer perks, and more! Here is the anatomy of a winning employer brand post that you can use every time to plug and play your EB content: 💜 Image: Always include an image to grab attention. Real photos are more effective, but stock images can be used as a last resort. It doesn’t have to be perfect - keep it authentic! 💜 Caption: Provide more context for what is going on in your image here. Had a super fun event? Explain what the team did! Featuring an employee for their accomplishments? Share what those are! 💜 Hashtags: Expand your reach via hashtags. You might want to come up with a specific one for all your EB posts, like #LifeAtCOMPANY. Candidates can click that hashtag and see all of your EB posts in one place. 💜 CTA: You don’t have to have a link in every post, but some people like to link to their careers page. I recommend a mix of EB posts with and without links. By the way, you can work EB content into your job posts, too. Stay tuned for more tips on that! #EmployerBrandStrategy #TalentAtrraction #RecruitmentMarketing

Your employees are some of your best social media marketers 🥇 And no, not just your marketing team One study found that employee content can have up to a 561% further reach than company posts! (PostBeyond by Influitive) Here’s how to get your wider company involved in your marketing efforts (in 5 top tips): 1/ Create an employee advocacy competition 🏆 A competition can be a fun way to get your company involved in posting more on social media with the incentive of a prize at the end Believe me, some people get competitive 2/ Encourage your team to promote your brand and invite connections on LinkedIn 📢 E.g. They could post about what they do at the company and what they have achieved Use LinkedIn’s invite connections feature and get them to send invites encouraging their relevant connections to follow your business page 3/ Teach employees how to post and build their personal brand 🚀 Encouraging employees to increase their social media presence can have a great effect on their career and confidence Take time to offer help when asked and provide useful, encouraging information. If you have the budget you can even organise a social media workshop 4/ Create a content strategy to guide them 🙌 Don’t make them do all the hard work, especially as they probably have a bunch of other tasks to complete You could give them a list of posts as inspiration e.g. posting about company culture or the work they are completing Or if you have some special company news write a template of what your team could post about 5/ Create a workplace that employees want to talk about 💬 Employees might voluntarily want to promote your business or at least when encouraged will do so. Do something fun like hosting a staff event and take lots of pictures for them to post Remember, it should be optional for employees to participate, as some may not want to be as active on social media Start an employee advocacy program and leave your competitors complaining that you are popping up everywhere! ✨ #employeeadvocacy #personalbrand #brandawareness

LinkedIn HATES company pages. If you manage one, you’ll know what I mean. The algorithm just doesn’t promote them enough. Despite some of my clients getting engagement rates of well beyond 40% +, the algorithm buries the posts. This is a big problem for small to medium agencies. How can you build an audience and pipeline of potential clients, when the average ORR of company pages is 3.48%? The answer: Employee advocacy programs. I can hear the collective groan already. I’ve spoken with agencies who have tried this already, but to no avail. They’ve tried everything, from running competitions to ghost writing the content for the employee. The program drops off because: 🙅 The gains aren’t immediate. 🙅 The employee isn’t engaged. 🙅 The employer gets distracted with other things. But effective employee advocacy programs do exist, and their success comes down to 3 key elements. 1) Making the program employee-centric The program needs to be focused on benefiting the employee, not the company. When approaching the subject, focus on building the employee’s clout. e.g “You’ve always got insightful things to say in our meetings, and I think you should share them with your network on LinkedIn.” 2) Setting realistic KPI’s Don’t worry if you don’t see results in the first 6 months. Building an audience takes time, so play the long game. Focus on process goals, like how many connection requests have been sent, or how much they engage with other posts on the platform. But keep experimenting and benchmark the progress made. 3) The employer supports, not directs Lastly, yet probably most importantly, let your advocate be themselves. There’s a reason you wanted them to be the face of your company, and you need to trust that. Use resources at your disposal to assist with creative or copywriting, but TOV and creative direction needs to come from the advocate, rather than the company guidelines. Be quirky, make jokes and don’t take it too seriously. ——— Want more tips for building out a LinkedIn advocacy program for your agency? Follow for more 👉 #marketingagency #linkedin #freelance
