On Ocean of Plastics Day, we reaffirm our commitment to reducing plastic in our packaging. In the past two years, we've successfully eliminated over 41.5 tonnes of plastic from our packaging. While effective packaging is vital to protecting our products during transit, we also support a circular economy by prioritising recyclable and sustainably sourced materials wherever possible. We’re proud of our progress but recognise there’s more to achieve. Our collaboration with suppliers continues as we seek innovative, sustainable packaging solutions. At Ideal Standard, we’re committed to evolving our practices for a more sustainable future. 🌱 At Gradient we’re embracing sustainability in all areas of our business, including what site banners we use. Traditionally banners are made from PVC, which is a harmful plastic made with toxic substances like phthalates and plasticisers. 🔄 Our new banners, provided by our local supplier Prints Regent Limited, are Non-PVC made from polyester fabric which are free from synthetic plasticisers and can be recycled and reused, reducing waste and environmental impact. 💡 Keeping up-to-date with latest advancements in materials is crucial for selecting the most sustainable options. It ensures that we continually improve our environmental footprint and stay environmentally responsible. #Sustainability #Innovation #keeplearning

**Leading the Charge Towards Circularity: The 2040 Vision for PET Packaging and Textiles** In a groundbreaking move, the U.S. PET packaging and polyester textile sectors are set to undergo a transformational shift from their traditional linear models towards a sustainable, circular framework. A recent study outlines a comprehensive strategy that aims to revolutionize the industry by 2040, with an ambitious target to halve plastic and textile waste. This initiative not only addresses environmental concerns but also sets a precedent for sustainable practices in manufacturing. The strategy involves rethinking every step in the lifecycle of products – from design to disposal – and emphasizes the importance of collaboration across industries. By 2040, the plan is to have established systems for recycling, reusing, and repurposing materials, significantly reducing waste and resource consumption. Key stakeholders across various sectors are encouraged to integrate innovative solutions, adopt sustainable materials, and push for policies that support these circular practices. This shift is more than just an environmental necessity; it is an economic opportunity. Industries embracing circularity can drive job creation, innovation, and economic resilience while meeting consumer demand for sustainable products.
