👍 BETTER! OR NOT? 👎 Inclusivity VS accessibility Can your brand be truly inclusive, without an accessible product? 🏳️🌈 When we consider inclusivity in the brand world, we often think culture building around the LGBTQ+ community, pride and other subcultures. 🏳️🌈 However, there’s a quiet subsection of consumers, which our physical branding is excluding. There’s at least 2.2 billion visually impaired people in the world, and with a globally ageing population, this number is only growing. 🧑🦯➡️ A study by the RNIB, found that 74% of visually impaired respondents had bought the wrong product in store, due to poor packaging guidance. Needless to say, physical branding has a long way to go, before delivering a truly inclusive brand experience.

Of course, you have that weird aunt or grumpy uncle but at the end of the day - regardless of race, gender, religious beliefs, sexuality, etc. Everyone loves eachother and supports eachother through those difficult calls. Recognition matters because representation matters! Full disclosure: I worked on this program for nearly two years. I understand its integrity and know from experience that winners often go on to do even more amazing things (I.e., inclusive leaders pay it forward!). LGBTQ+ travelers are feeling more comfortable, with 73% noticing increased inclusivity in the travel industry. Key findings: 83% feel welcome at check-in, 80% in correspondence with hosts and airlines, and 82% with hospitality staff.
