“Nothing would have changed if I hadn’t gone from just fighting to survive to fighting for a solution for my disease,” says David Fajgenbaum, co-founder Every Cure. In this video, he talks about his journey from facing a medical emergency situation to find solutions through horizontal thinking. ➡ Do you leverage out-of-the-box thinking? Share your thoughts in the comments.
Do you think outside the box? Or within it? David Fajgenbaum, MD, MBA, MSc promised his mother he’d become an oncologist before she passed away of cancer. But in his third year of medical school, Fajgenbaum, a former college quarterback and current co-founder of Every Cure, nearly died when all his vital organs mysteriously shut down. After an experimental drug failed and doctors had run out of options, Fajgenbaum employed the transformative power of horizontal thinking. Unlike vertical thinking, which is a sequence of direct and logical steps used to come to a conclusion, horizontal thinking takes a solution from one problem and applies it to another in a way that sparks innovation and adaptability. “Nothing would have changed if I hadn’t gone from just fighting to survive to fighting for a solution for my disease,” Fajgenbaum said. So, which are you: a vertical thinker or a horizontal thinker? Share your thoughts in the comments! Tune into this episode of Catalyst to see how Fajgenbaum used horizontal thinking to save his own life, as well as those of countless others. And subscribe to the newsletter: https://lnkd.in/e-RYcKD5

Transforming Healthcare with Innovative Tech Solutions | Empowering Oncology Practices for Better Outcomes
🚀 Exciting news! Next week, I’ll be attending the 2024 Association for Value-Based Cancer Care Conference in New York, and couldn’t be more thrilled to share the stage with some of the brightest minds in oncology and technology. 💡🎤 We’ll be diving deep into "The Practice Analytics Imperative: Better Measurement for Better Management." 🔍 In today’s data-driven world, oncology practices are sitting on vast amounts of information, but unlocking the real value requires breaking down silos and improving interoperability. I'll be sharing my thoughts on: - The most persistent barriers to interoperability 🧩 - How AI and technology are shaping the future of practice analytics ⚙️ - Solutions to help practices leverage their data, even when they lack in-house expertise 💼 It’s going to be an insightful discussion, and I can’t wait to hear perspectives from industry leaders and share Navista's vision on how we can help practices harness the full potential of their data. If you’re attending, let’s connect! Looking forward to learning, sharing, and driving innovation in the oncology space. #AVBCC2024 #OncologyAnalytics #ValueBasedCare #Interoperability #HealthcareInnovation #DataDrivenDecisions #Navista #OncologyLeadership
