Full-time parenting is the most common reason women take a step back from work in the U.S., with breaks lasting a median of over three years, new LinkedIn data shows. That’s why it's all the more important for women returning to the workforce to ask for support from their employer to ease their transition, says Reshma Saujani, the founder and CEO of Moms First. She believes that women returning to work “shouldn’t be shy” about asking for greater flexibility from their HR leaders — whether that’s advocating for the ability to work remotely or having more control over your time. Supporting workers’ reentry simply means “let me figure out the schedule that works for me,” Saujani says. What strategies and resources have you found to be most effective in helping new parents transition back into the workforce? Weigh in below.

When Super Agent Rich Paul was a kid he didn't have much, but he had what mattered: A wise and present dad, for one, who provided what he now calls a solid foundation. He also learned a lot about adversity, how it can be a driving force and not a blocker. But what is the road like from a rough Cleveland neighborhood to becoming arguably the most driven, innovative and influential sports agent in the game? The author of the self-deprecatingly-titled memoir "Lucky Me" opens up to LinkedIn Editor-in-Chief Daniel Roth about how he got here from there — and how anyone with the right tools and frame of mind can too. Who are the professionals happiest with their paychecks? About 44% of U.S. professionals feel well compensated for the work they do — but that figure is higher for workers in certain roles, according to the latest findings of LinkedIn’s Workforce Confidence survey. The survey found that engineers and program/project managers have the highest rates of pay satisfaction: 54% said they feel well compensated at work. Employees in finance, research, quality assurance, human resources and business development roles also have above-average pay satisfaction. Just over half of workers in each of those job functions said they believe they are well paid. Workers in consulting and information technology also reported above average pay satisfaction (49% and 48% respectively). The kind of work you do may not be the only factor in deciding how happy you will be about your paycheck. Other recent LinkedIn findings show that older workers are more likely to be happier with their pay than younger workers, and remote and hybrid workers are more satisfied than their fully on-site colleagues. If you work in one of these jobs, why do you think your role is so valued in the workplace? And what advice do you have for others in your field looking to earn more? Weigh in below. ✍️: Rachel Cromidas 📊: Allie Lewis, Bud Rashidian
