I'm glad I'm not entering the Business Systems/Salesforce workforce right now. And it has nothing to do with any product. Most successful Admins/Devs/Architects I know were able to find a position to anchor in and learn. To be exposed to a multitude of projects and find a key niche. This allowed them to grow technically and understand the business. Which, is one of the most important skills in this industry. But, with the post-pandemic rebound of the talent crunch, where companies aren't hiring juniors, those opportunities have dried. Layer on top of this the promise of AI, increasing speed without the need for adding headcount to deliver value. Companies on an AI initiative are likely to not hire juniors to learn and support this initiative. Rather, they'll lean on partners and experienced folks due to the criticality of the initiative and the overall complexity as you position it in the portfolio. It may be easy for Partners to hire an army of bench consultants who can learn new concepts without the baggage of "old think." This may result in a Squid Games-type situation where folks are churned left and right, and the strongest survive. And this is not necessarily a bad thing, unless you're one of those folks who get churned in the machine. This isn't sustainable in the long run, so there will be new opportunities for those wanting to land in the industry, but I think it'll be at least 3-5 years before we see a boon in hiring again. The question is, can the talent on the sidelines wait that long? #salesforce #hiring #ai

Are you a mid-career sales leader trying to decide if you want to stay at a bigger company or leave for a startup to accelerate your career? Here’s one thing I would keep in mind that you are probably skipping over! If you aren’t significantly better than average at working in Salesforce, you should stay at a big company! You can’t work at a tech startup without already having built that skillset! At a startup you don’t have the Sales/Rev Ops team there to support all of the reports, dashboards, metrics etc you want to track to make data driven decisions. That will fall on your shoulders! Many times startups think the numbers are different than they are, and if you don’t go to the data source you are gonna be in a tough spot!
