International Women's Day is about investing in and including women. When we invest in women, we create a better world. A woman multiplies the impact of an investment made in her by extending benefits to the world around her, creating a better life for her family and building stronger communities. It is reassuring to see that more and more women are financially empowered, independent and included, but there is still work to be done to close the gaps that exist today. That's why I'm proud that with the help of the RBC Foundation, our branch supported a $2,500 donation to a local charity. Help forge an inclusive world by investing in women and accelerating the progress. After all, gender equality is one of the most effective ways to build healthier, more prosperous, and more inclusive communities. #IWD2024 #InternationalWomensDay

Exciting Milestone for SAVING SOULS FOUNDATION I am excited to share that Saving Soul Foundation has successfully provided 5 sewing machines to deserving families who have the talent but lack the resources to kickstart their sewing ventures. Additionally, we support those in need through our food distribution program, providing essential items like sugar, flour, tea, and rice packages. Our mission is to empower women, promote gender equality, and support vulnerable communities through various initiatives. Our efforts align with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 🔹 SDG 1: No Poverty - By equipping women with sewing machines, we help them create a sustainable source of income. 🔹 SDG 2: Zero Hunger - Through our food distribution program, we ensure that basic nutritional needs are met for many families. 🔹 SDG 5: Gender Equality - We are committed to empowering women and promoting gender equality by providing the tools and training they need to succeed. Looking ahead, we are excited to announce our plans to offer comprehensive training programs. These programs will teach women how to effectively run their sewing businesses from home, further enabling them to achieve financial independence and contribute to their communities. However, we need your support to continue our mission. Many poor women are on our list waiting for sewing machines, but due to a shortage of funds, we have had to temporarily stop our distributions. Yet research by the World Bank shows that every dollar invested in gender equality delivers a return of $7 to $12 for the economy. A staggering fact has hit me hard this past week: Women are less likely to receive CPR from bystanders than men, leading to men having a 23% higher chance of surviving sudden cardiac arrest. Why? Throughout the year, not just during Women's History Month, Sage Horizons elevates and celebrates the achievements of women, promotes gender equality, and raises awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by women around the world. Our efforts to recognize, celebrate, and acknowledge the significant contributions and achievements of women throughout history, play a crucial role in shaping a more inclusive and accurate understanding of history while inspiring future generations to strive for equality and justice.   Survivor-Led Solutions (SLS) is a non-profit organization that is making substantial contributions to the well-being of women. Led by Alicia Tappan, SLS gives survivor leaders the power and platform to use their voices and create positive social change. In less than a week SLS will be hosting a week-long retreat, LeadHer, for human-trafficking survivor leaders. Survivor leaders will gather in a beach house in Destin, Florida to rest, relax and restore. Lodging, food, and trauma-informed services will be provided to help ensure their stay is comfortable and refreshing.   Sage Horizons has joined SLS in the fight against human trafficking. During the 2024 LeadHer Retreat (https://lnkd.in/g8P6VNsH), Sage Horizons, LLC will be facilitating a healing-centered art and poetry session with survivor leaders and contributing to their restoration and retreat time filled with trauma-informed care.   If you’re interested in supporting this mission and retreat, there is still time for sponsorships.
