As you know well, environmental and community health issues are complex and too big to tackle alone. That’s why ICL supports collaborative efforts that together can solve the complex issues. Recently, our board members reflected on “the magic” that ICL brings to collaborations. From their experience with ICL, they said ICL helps collaborations get “unstuck” and have greater impact. "ICL knows how a network works. We can't do everything all at once. So, let's go understand where there's energy, and let's nurture that energy. And they are not overly prescriptive about it. They tap into the group’s potential and their sense of direction." "When I'm talking to ICL folks you end up with a lot of nodding of heads, and then you get to a resolution on things. And I think part of it is because of ICL’s non-profit background, there is that synergy. By asking the right question, the staff member drew that out. That can be hard to do. So really--it is magic." As a small nonprofit organization, we depend on people like you. Through ICL, you can help contribute to solutions for issues like climate resiliency, access to the outdoors, local food systems, and community health. Give today to have a positive ripple effect with collaborations that create environmental and community health! https://lnkd.in/g5Zp_eki #collaboration #leadership #conservation #environmentalhealth #magic #givetoday

So awesome to join Philanthropy New Zealand, Predator Free New Zealand Trust and funders from all over Aotearoa New Zealand to hear so many fascinating insights from Marie Doole's environmental funding research earlier today. As funders, it’s so important that we have a holistic understanding of the pain points for not-for-profits, key inhibitors for securing funding, the landscape in which we operate and the opportunities to create more effective funding systems. Innovative research, like Marie’s, is so important to share and build this knowledge, so we can create better outcomes for our communities. Ka rawe, Marie! What is the value of a garden? You could say that $250 helps Trellis for Tomorrow plant five garden beds. But a garden represents so much more than that, don’t you agree? Community gardens play a crucial role in nurturing vibrant, sustainable communitr benefits extend far beyond the garden’s boundaries—like food security, environmental sustainability, physical and mental well-being, empowerment, resilience, social cohesion, and education. Make a gift to the Resilient Communities Fund by December 31 to become an essential part of our mission to build sustainable and resilient communities from the ground up. https://ow.ly/6JyB50QanLX

Apart from my academics.. As a student, my journey is not just about academic pursuits but also about nurturing a deep-rooted passion for social work, environmental conservation, and community engagement. Believing strongly in the power of manifestation, I have dedicated my time to initiatives that align with my values and beliefs. From volunteering at local food donation drives to actively participating in plantation campaigns, I strive to contribute meaningfully to society. Collaborating with organizations dedicated to humanity's well-being has further deepened my understanding of the impact of collective action. As I continue on this path, I am committed to fostering positive change, one step at a time, and to inspire others to join me in manifesting a more compassionate and sustainable world. #StudentActivist #SocialImpact #ManifestingChange

At the Golden Bottle Trust (GBT), the Hoare family uses a philanthropic profiling tool called Care4Most (www.care4most.org) to establish which causes mean the most to family members. Recently, the GBT’s focus on environmental projects intensified, with the funding target rising from 11% in 2018 to 20% in 2022. To maximise its impact, the GBT partnered with Impatience Earth to develop an 'ecosystem granting' strategy. This approach uses multiple smaller grants to address the interconnected nature of environmental issues, supporting solutions from the planting and preservation of seagrass to regenerative agriculture. It’s World Water Day and we’ve got a question for you. When was the last time you stopped to think about the significance of the water that’s flowing through your tap when you grab a drink? If it’s been a while, then this is the perfect time to take a minute to reflect on the importance of accessible clean water. It’s estimated that over 2 billion people (that’s 1 in every 4 people on earth) do not have access to clean water for drinking, bathing or cooking. Even fewer people have access to basic sanitation, with nearly 50% of human beings lacking this simple privilege. We feel it’s also the perfect time to shine a light on the work of one of the Cotopaxi Foundation’s incredible nonprofit partners, Water1st International. Water1st is committed to ending the “walk for water” for rural communities around the world by ensuring that people have piped water directly to their homes. To learn more about how this simple intervention can improve things like gender equity, graduation rates and national GDP check out their work and support if you can! https://lnkd.in/g8PEYVQc
