Expert Talent Acquisition Trainer | Bringing awareness to the Collision industry | Helping collision professionals find the right organization | Special Operations Vet
🚨Collision industry leaders read this! When I was recruiting for the Military, each branch—Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Navy—was vying for the same 1% of students. The competition was fierce and relentless. Instead of viewing other branches as rivals, I took a different approach. I partnered with our biggest competitor, the Marine Corps, to expand that 1% into 5% by collectively enhancing the overall image of the military. This strategy worked exceptionally well. By combining our efforts, we engaged future soldiers and Marines, and leveraged our social media platforms to host joint events that generated more interest in the military. One notable event was a joint service suicide awareness campaign that involved the entire community. We also conducted joint training sessions with our enlisted members, capturing and sharing the fun on social media. This collaboration widened our recruitment pool, leading to greater success for both branches. The collision industry can adopt a similar strategy. By collaborating, we can elevate the perception of the industry, making it more appealing and increasing the quality of our talent pool. Coming together is the key. We can compete on talent later. Gen. Stephen Whiting, #USSPACECOM commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jacob Simmons, USSPACECOM command senior enlisted leader, hosted fellows from National Defense University's Keystone course where they received briefs on how USSPACECOM conducts operations in support of the joint fight. The Keystone course educates command senior enlisted leaders who are currently serving in, or slated to serve in, a general or flag-officer level position at a joint or service headquarters, including potential joint task force assignments. USSPACECOM works with senior leaders across the United States Department of Defense and our Allies to foster a warfighting culture, which is instrumental to the rapidly advancing capability of the Joint Force.

How do you pay $90,000 for a bag of bushings? -The law. Buy American laws for everything—even bushings—drives up prices. The certificates of confirmance and traceability equate to work—lots of it. - Aerospace standards. Parts that keep an aircraft flying require a large amount of testing that I don’t need to fix my lawnmower. - One size fits all quality standards. Sometimes it matters, and sometimes it doesn’t. But in our risk averse world, it is easier to make it all matter. - MANY companies that are simply unwilling to do the paperwork and go through the hassle to do work with the government. It is just too much hassle and work. That reduces the completion, and keeps the pain factor high for those who do work with the government. BL, it is not as simple as a $90,000 bag of bushings. But most of it is fixable.
This is so bad… The US Air Force is Paying $90,000 for a Bag of Bushings that Normally Costs well under $20 at Home Depot WALTZ: How much do you think the Air Force pays for this bag of bushings? USAF SEC. KENDALL: I don’t know, Congressman. WALTZ: $90,000. There is no accountability… no checks and balances. Our tax-dollars hard at work.

I do not know the specifics of the bearings or what they are used on. However, I know that you can’t just buy the same bearings at Home Depot with the certifications required by the defense department. ITAR requirements and were the bearings in question available or was there a minimum purchase requirement because they were out of stock? I agree $90k seems excessive however, I remember once having to purchase a special 3/8”-16 x 3” shoulder bolt that was made from an aircraft grade stainless steel. Because the bolt wasn’t readily available, we had to purchase a minimum quantity. We only needed about 80 bolts but because of the minimum buy. The cost was about $1,700.00 per bolt! The total was $144,000.00

The way the US military purchases (fair trade, organic, single sourced, dolphin safe) equipment is beyond rediculous… Time to make a dramatic change in policy that drives the process. *wild ideas: 1. Competitive free market sourcing at the unit level. 2. Put an end to the “gotta spend my whole budget, or they’ll give me less next year” mentality/policy. How else should we correct the process?

*SYNTHETIC TELEPATHY AND MIND CONTROL* The military personnel setup around me, whom I have seen both in uniform and out are USAF and Navy personnel. This is likely due to these bases being reasonably close. Across the USA, depending on location, Army and Marine bases are likely playing their roles as well. Remember these individuals are "Order Followers" under supervision of their leadership up the Chain of Command. https://lnkd.in/gxaqaigB NOTE: This program is designed as a unified effort that includes experimentation by of all levels of federal, state and local police departments, training on technology and DOD Contractor, such as Lockheed Martin.

Partners in PROMISE would like to recognize Silver Star Service Banner Day on May 1st. Silver Star Service Banner Day is for Americans to recognize and remember service members who have been wounded in combat, are sick, and who are dying. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the Silver Star Medal is the third-highest medal a member of the Armed Forces can receive for gallant action during combat. The U.S. Army normally awards the distinguished medal as the "Silver Star," while the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard award the medal as the "Silver Star Medal." All branches of the military give the award as a result of action against an enemy of the U.S. during the conflict over a short period, normally one or two days. How can you recognize Silver Star Service Banner Day: 1. Attend a local veteran organization or military base event honoring Silver Star personnel and families. 2. Display your Silver Star Service Banner outside your home or business. 3. Volunteer to help at a local event honoring Silver Star recipients. 4. Show gratitude and thank all service members for their contributions to our nation. #SilverStarServiceBannerDay #MilitaryFamilies
