🚨 New research shows while companies in Singapore are taking steps to support employee well-being, there is a gap between the focus of employer’s well-being programmes and what employees need the most. 🚨 While 51% of employers focus on mental well-being and 49% prioritize physical well-being, employees have expressed that financial well-being is their top concern (53%). Surprisingly, only 8% of employers consider financial well-being a priority. It's time for organisations to realign their focus and address the growing demand for financial well-being support, ensuring employees feel empowered and secure in all aspects of their lives. 💼💰 Read more in the link below!

Prioritizing Mental Wellness in the Workplace Did you know that nearly half of Singapore's workforce feels exhausted after a day at work? It's a clear sign that burnout is becoming a serious issue. Overwork, personal pressures, and job security anxieties are driving this trend. What's more concerning is that many workers are also struggling with motivation—26% attribute this to not feeling appreciated at work. The latest survey by Telus Health highlights the urgent need for employers to prioritize mental health support. Shockingly, over half of the respondents report their workplaces lack essential mental health programs such as confidential counselling and wellness services. Furthermore, a significant portion are uncertain if these resources are available. Neglecting mental health not only impacts employee well-being but also has significant economic implications, including reduced productivity and increased healthcare costs. Long-term, it could lead to more severe issues like clinical depression and anxiety disorders. The 'always on' work culture, driven by smartphones, pressures employees to be available after hours, contributing to exhaustion and decreased productivity. To address these issues, organizations should consider regular workload assessments, offering flexible work arrangements, counselling and providing mental health support. Share your insights and experiences on fostering a supportive and resilient workforce. Let’s learn together! In the course of just a few years, the workplace has undergone a total transformation. The pandemic normalised digital and distributed work almost overnight, while the rapid pace of organisational development has given rise to workplaces in a near-constant state of change. The cost of this transformation? A silent yet persistent crisis in workplace wellbeing. The evidence is clear. As well as Gallup's stark insight below, we could cite: 👉 Deloitte - Poor wellbeing cost UK employers £56bn between 2020 and 2021. 👉 Deloitte - 40% of UK turnover costs can now be attributed to mental health problems. 👉 Mental Health UK 1 in 5 UK workers needed to take time off work in the last year for stress-related issues. 👉 Champion Health - 65% of employees cite workload as the biggest cause of stress. Don't get us wrong, change and innovation are important to organisational progress. But nothing good happens in a business without its people. No change project can succeed with an unhealthy, disengaged workforce, and no exciting new technology will thrive in their hands either. Your people are your greatest strategic asset. It's time to treat wellbeing as the key business objective it is. 📙 Discover how to take a proactive, data-driven approach to wellbeing at work in our free guide, linked in the comments below. #HowDoYouHarkn? #wellbeing #wellbeingatwork #workplacewellbeing #employeewellbeing #employeelistening #employeevoice #wellness #burnout #change

😀 More ambition required 👏 .. Yep, research is bearing out the fact that personal agency in workplace well-being is not going to cut the mustard. 😉 Worth checking out these recent findings-from The University of Oxford and the Wellbeing Research Centre that organisation-level changes are what is required as there is NO evidence of improved well-being after individual-level mental health interventions from this large-scale study of over 46,000 UK workers. (see the link in comments for further detail). 🤔 What do you think? Is there a place for individual workplace wellbeing- or is it just company wellbeing washing? An act of devolved responsibility? The purpose of Yakbit is to examine some of the everyday meeting interactions to gain some important performance metrics to see who is really holding the space. Those that talk the loudest or make the greater contributions can skew input, process and outcomes. This has the potential to be an important organisational level intervention that will make a difference. Change the workplace, not the worker. ➡ The team manager is often a process expert, and yet presented daily with the task of managing complex human interactions. ➡ New data insights, with additional coaching can help greater team engagement, boost performance and be a useful everyday inclusion metric. 🙋♀️ Currently building Yakbit to provide data-led performance insights for the workplace, For an organisation this provides: •Objective metrics to report on everyday inclusion at work •Greater productivity and results •Quantitative data to better understand employee engagement & well being •Innovative, scalable and affordable interventions to address performance Currently raising, so if you are interested in investment opportunities, please do get in touch. The time really is now. #investments #dataanalytics #workplacewellness #employeeengagement
