In June 2023, the World Bank approved $1.5 billion in financing to boost India’s low-carbon energy initiatives. This second funding round promotes green hydrogen production, renewable energy, and climate finance. Aiming to decouple economic growth from emissions, it includes incentives for battery storage and reforms to enhance renewable energy integration. Expected outcomes: 450,000 metric tons of green hydrogen annually, 1,500 MW of electrolysers, and a 50 million ton reduction in emissions per year. This aligns with India's Nationally Determined Contributions and the World Bank’s Hydrogen for Development (H4D) Partnership. #GreenEnergy #ClimateAction

According to a report by the World Economic Forum and Bain and Company, India has the opportunity to become a leader in renewable hydrogen. By focusing efforts in 5 key areas in the demand and supply ecosystem, India can accelerate the adoption of renewable hydrogen, a vital requirement as it works towards meeting its energy security needs. The report identifies the following focus areas to achieve this: - Lowering cost of production through cheaper renewable energy storage and electrolyser subsidies. - Better infrastructure development  - Enhance demand for renewable hydrogen by tailoring solutions that meet their specific requirements - Develop India as a renewable hydrogen export hub - Divert investments from high-emission sources to green energy transition initiatives. 💡Big progression for the Danish clean-tech space💡 European Energy has launched Denmark's first green hydrogen plant, marking a significant milestone towards sustainable energy and a key advancement for the company, known for its expertise in wind and solar projects. After being completed in June, the facility is now operational, with the initial electrolyser successfully producing hydrogen.
