Celebrating National World Voice Day: Empowering Young People On National World Voice Day, let's reflect on the significance of giving young people a voice in their own lives. At Athena Care, we implement this philosophy in our everyday practices. Our approach is rooted in theories such as Self-Determination Theory (SDT), which highlights the importance of autonomy and self-expression in promoting well-being and resilience. By empowering young people to voice their thoughts and ideas, we foster a sense of agency and ownership over their lives, aligning with the principles of SDT. Our young people actively participate in meetings, provide input in staff interviews, and make daily choices with the guidance of our supportive staff. They even hold their own board meetings through our Young People's Advisory Board, embodying the principles of participation and empowerment advocated by theorists like Roger Hart and Sherry Arnstein. By incorporating these theories into our everyday practices, we create opportunities for meaningful engagement and collaboration, fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and mutual understanding. Step 2: Review my client's calendar to identify their availability for the upcoming week. I would note optimal days and time slots that could work ⏰ Step 3: Leverage Time Zone Converters: Tap into online converters (timeanddate.com, worldtimebuddy.com) to spot time overlaps that suit all schedules. 🌐 Step 4: Factor in Work Hours: Account for standard work hours in each zone to find a suitable window without inconveniencing anyone. 📝 Step 5: Present Options: Choose 3 time slot alternatives accommodating diverse schedules and preferences. 🤝 Step 5: Confirm Availability: Send an email to all participants to ensure the proposed times align with their availability. 🗓️ Step 6: Lock in the Call: Finalize the meeting schedule, and send clear calendar invites specifying date, time, and time zone conversions for clarity.
