Draghi calls for grabbing €1 trillion tech scale-up opportunity! Both in my capacity as Board Member of the largest deeptech fund in Europe in European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) and as citizen in the European Union - I want to ensure everyone reading the long awaited Draghi report on European competitiveness. My take is: 1. We face an urgent need for Europe to close the innovation gap with the US and China, particularly in advanced technologies. 2. 📍Global Investors Summit 2024. From #Democracy to #AI, the drivers of #Peace and #Prosperity. Last week I had a privilege to moderate a panel discussion on how investors view #Poland in the context of the last 35 years (obviously the assessment from the standpoint of #FDI and portfolio investments has been different but the conclusion is: YES, Poland is still the best investment destination). 3️⃣5️⃣ years ago #Solidarnosc won elections in Poland, starting democratic chapter of the modern history of Central and Eastern Europe. 2️⃣0️⃣ years ago Poland joined the #EU, starting the fastest economic #transformation in the history of the modern world. Conclusions from our panel: 👨🎓👩🎓Poland is a country of #innovation and the quality of the engineering staff is highly rated; Warsaw-Krakow-Wrocław-Tricity – for many global players these are hubs for global operations. This presence and expansion of businesses and teams is a part of a long-term strategy. However stability and predictability of the legal environment is crucial. 💰📈The #capitalmarket can support the #technology revolution, infrastructure projects, and #energy transformation. The expectations of portfolio managers to support such investments are clear: good #corporategovernance and #sustainable development with #ESG compliance. 🚀 How to innovate for the future? Too often, organizations find themselves stuck in a cycle of incremental innovation, struggling to connect it with their overall strategy. But there’s a way out: a Foresight-Driven Innovation (FDI) approach. By integrating foresight into the innovation process, we can apply a “future back approach” and focus our innovation on future needs, as opposed to present (or even past) needs.
