This is a fascinating field of study - the economics of professionally produced content are such a fast-changing field that whatever is true at the beginning of a school year may very well be totally obsolete by the end. And yes, games & music are definitely the canaries in the digital coal mines when it comes to business models for media. Whatever happens there, will happen next to all other forms of media …

When I left my faculty position in May, I wasn't sure what would come next. I sold my house in Ohio, packed everything, and moved back to my home state of Minnesota. As I've been splashing around in my favorite lakes, I've been creating the vision for a new business that serves academics in the arts. ✨ I believe arts academics deserve specialized career support. ✨ During my time as a theater history professor, I observed 📍 universities don't know how to evaluate artists, and so 📍 they don't know how to mentor them Promotion and tenure systems were built for the sciences and social sciences. And artists' accomplishments don't fit the mold. This dilemma is especially urgent during milestones like a job search or promotion. 💫 My mission is to help arts academics navigate systems that weren't built for them 💫 I know you've already done the hard work of publishing, performing, and exhibiting. Now I can help you ✔ interpret your department's tenure document or a job ad ✔ highlight your most prized accomplishments, and ✔ articulate them in the language of higher ed, OR ✔ navigate the next steps in your career Know someone on the job market? A colleague prepping for tenure? Re-post to help them out. 🧚♂️ ~ Angie P.S. Want to see if we'd work well together? DM me or use the Calendly link in my profile to schedule a free 15-minute call.
