" Geld und Geduld " Money and patience To fully accomplish the electric conversion of German bus operations and assets. This is the Introduction speech at Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen (VDV) Mobility Move in front of 1500 congressists and 90 exhibitors in Berlin. In a particular moment when the Federal subventions are suddenly drastically reduced and making 2030 conversion targets at stake. Examples show the efforts from Munich (bus depot conversion = 200 M€), or Hamburger Hochbahn with an estimated comprehensive conversion cost of 1 Md € by 2030. These subventions are not wasted, they are feeding the economy and industry. In the exhibition hall, IVECO BUS CROSSWAY Low Entry Electric is present to get familiar with its new face from 2024 onwards. #mobilitymove

“The transition will not happen at a pace at which it needs to happen if all actors do not commit” This is what our Policy Director, Gabrielė Šimakauskaitė, emphasized yesterday at the Conference on the EU Automotive Ecosystem, hosted by the #HU24EU alongside European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). During the panel on "Accelerating E-Mobility in the EU: Key Priorities and Challenges," Gabriele dove into ChargeUp Europe's vision for scaling recharging infrastructure across the EU, highlighting the importance of legal certainty for the competitiveness of the EU’s industry, sparking a dynamic discussion on the future of transport. ⚡ We thank the Hungarian Presidency for organizing this high-level event. We were pleased to strengthen our relationships with key industry players and EU decision-makers.

Franconia-Thuringia Express sprints with Siemens Mobility trains on the Nuremberg-Erfurt high-speed line. Happy to share that, just in time for the summer timetable change the Desiro HC Trains equipped with Trainguard 200 OBU entered passenger service on VDE8 on June 9th. This is the first time a regional train has been fitted with #ETCS to run at up to 190 km/h on the VDE8 in regular passenger operations. As a result, the travel times between cities along the VDE 8 (Nuremberg -Coburg-Erfurt) for Commuter trains have been reduced significantly. For example the schedule between Coburg and Erfurt by regional train has been reduced from more than 3 hours to only 36 minutes. A big thank you to the whole project team to reach this aim. 💡 Thrilled to share a captivating moment from the ALSC Europe 2024 conference, where Oliver Bronder, managing director of vehicle logistics at VW Group Logistics, sat down with Christopher Ludwig, Chief Content Officer, Automotive Logistics & Ultima Media, for our Red Sofa interview to discuss how logistics has transformed into a strategic advantage, driven by the goal of improving reliability for the end customer after the disruption of the last few years. Bronder, a keynote speaker at this year's conference, says that the most important lesson that VW Group has learned over the recent period of supply chain crisis is problem solving and how to work more collaboratively across functions within the company. That is enabling VW Group Logistics to make decisions on how to solve issues in the new normal of disruption more quickly. Bronder adds VW Group Logistics is coming out of the crisis with a clear agenda for decarbonising logistics in three areas – increasing train capacity powered by green electricity for vehicle and battery shipments, adopting electric trucks and, most importantly using LNG ships, which it already does. The division is looking ahead now to the use of synthetic fuels, with long-term plans for ammonia, to power vessels, a move Bronder is very optimistic about. 🔗 CHECK OUT THE HIGHLIGHTS AND OUR LIVE BLOG FROM THE ALSC EUROPE 2024 EVENT - https://lnkd.in/eNbQU7ks Daniel Unterburger Lars Bäumann David Schmidtheisler Simon Motter Volkswagen Group VOLKSWAGEN KONZERNLOGISTIK GMBH & CO OHG #Volkswagen #AutomotiveLogistics #SupplyChainInnovation #FutureOfMobility #ALSCLIVE

Deutsche Bahn The solution is simple 1. Buy a few, maybe 5 or so, automatic rolling stock, like the ones that have run in London since 1990s. 2. Write a press release aimed at the level of "Bild Zeitung" 3. Run a service automatically for a short trial and then expand to cover any shortfall in personnel until all trains are fully autonomous. The technology is commercially available from multiple suppliers and much easier than on public roads. Manned trains can't stop for pedestrians or animals anyway and you can easily detect which line you are on as well as your positioning. the environment changes much slower than in automotive. Two unions is stupid and the level of sallary increase requested is simply not justified.
