📑 Highly recommended read: a very insightful analysis from S&P Global Commodity Insights on the increasing role of women in the power and utilities sector. 💡 'In Europe, women hold about 18.6% of C-suite roles in the companies analyzed, 23% of executive roles and 30.7% of board member positions'. 🌱 The progress is directly related to the implementation of resources to attract and retain a diverse workforce, according to Senior leaders. 📈 Despite the green shoots, the industry still has a long way to go to reach parity. This #IWD we are asking for better 🤝 While brilliant women make up a majority of our staff, and chair 63% of our direct committees, there is always more to be done when it comes to #InspiringInclusion and #InvestingInWomen - work that is needed throughout the year, not just on International Women's Day. This is especially true within the energy sector, which is why we are the proud home of POWERful Women, who work tirelessly to accelerate change to create a gender-balanced, diverse and inclusive UK energy workforce. Writing on the necessity of female leadership to deliver the energy transition, and the need for the energy sector to 'do better', read our CEO Nick Wayth CEng FEI FIMechE's thoughts here: https://ow.ly/L2Lb50QNMkg

Many industries find their workforce, particularly senior leadership, to be male-dominated, and utilities is no different. Although progress is still to be made in diversifying the utilities workforce, particularly when it comes to female employment levels, International Energy Agency (IEA) research shows that women hold more senior executive positions in the utility industries than elsewhere in the energy sector. We gain exclusive insights from Sharon Sage and Jo Butlin from WUN - Womens Utilities Network on giving women the skills and confidence for lasting, fulfilling careers in the utility sector 👩💼⚡💡🔌 #womeninutilities #DEI #workforcediversity

Celebrating Women's Day: The Power of Diversity in Energy and Renewables As we honor Women's Day, at Turner Lovell we reflect on the vital role that diversity and inclusion play within the electricity and renewables sector. We believe in fostering a workplace that champions gender diversity, not just because it's the right thing to do, but also because it drives innovation and business success. A few insights underline this belief: A 2020 McKinsey study highlighted that companies with gender-diverse executive teams were 25% more likely to experience above-average profitability. Boston Consulting Group in 2018 connected gender-diverse management teams to a 19% increase in innovation revenue. Credit Suisse in 2017 revealed companies with at least one woman on the board enjoyed an average of 0.8% higher net income growth. The Peterson Institute for International Economics in 2015 found a direct correlation between women in leadership and profitability, with up to 6% higher net margins when women comprised 30% of leaders. At Turner Lovell, we're committed to advancing these insights into actions. As specialists in recruitment for the electricity and renewables industry, we actively support and encourage the presence of talented women at all levels of our sector. On this Women's Day, let us pledge to build a more inclusive and successful future. Because when women thrive, our industry propels forward. #WomensDay #DiversityandInclusion #RenewableEnergy #ElectricityIndustry

International Women’s Day (IWD) was celebrated last week, and serves as a true commitment to #genderequality and advocacy for women’s rights, as well as a reminder of women’s achievements around the world. At REGA ENERGY, we believe every day is an opportunity to celebrate the incredible contributions of women within our team. The industry may be moving in the right direction, but there is more to be done.
