Joanna Kijas-Janiszowska, ACCA, CIA’s Post

Impact CEE is behind us.     I had the pleasure of participating in the panel "New Economic Era: From Globalization to Deglobalization".    Events such as the pandemic or the war in Ukraine have spurred us at IKEA to build supply chains in a safer, more diversified way.    Poland remains extremely important for IKEA. Every fifth IKEA piece sold in the world is produced in Poland. IKEA has 16 factories in 8 locations. Together with our business partners, across the entire value chain in Poland, we have created nearly 100,000 jobs.    The new economic era is largely defined by the climate crisis 🌍 . At IKEA, we have set ourselves ambitious goals – 50% reduction of the emissions in the entire value chain by 2030 and 90% by 2050 (comparing to FY16). The changes that need to take place will affect the entire value chain. Investments in renewable energy, which IKEA implements globally, including in Poland, are also of a key importance. Already in 2021, IKEA produced more energy from renewable sources in Poland than we used in all of our operations in stores, warehouses, factories and distribution centers.    I would like to thank the host Boguslaw Chrabota from Rzeczpospolita and co-panelists Jagoda Zakrzewska, Google, Robert Dobrzycki, Panattoni, Andrzej Leder, PAN for a good conversation!    #impactCEE #IKEA
