WEBINAR ON JANUARY 11TH Three and a half years ago, a small team embarked on an effort to establish a Canadian green aviation technology consortium—an ecosystem of Canadian talent—to accelerate the industry’s efforts to meet net-zero targets. It was incorporated in February 2023. In June 2023, at the Paris Air Show, Minister Champagne publicly announced the government’s support of $350 million (2023-2030). Industry contributions will bring the total project expenditures to over $850 million. Thus, INSAT/INTAD was born (Initiative for Sustainable Aviation Technology™ / Initiative pour une technologie aéronautique durable™) (www.insat.aero). Since then, efforts have focused on setting up the team and operations. The Director General, Michel Dion, was announced on 8 January 2024. There is a 6-person interim board to support the DG and his support team. INSAT has a signed Contribution Agreement with the Canadian government, and a Master Project Agreement (MPA) is nearing completion. A logo competition was completed through the Canadian Mobility and Aerospace Institute (CMAI) with post-secondary students across the country. Mathilde Picard’s logo was selected from a very creative group of submissions. Today, we are announcing a webinar on 11 January 2024 from 1 p.m to 2:30 p.m (E.T) to launch the first formal project call. We look forward to seeing you on the webinar.
