Congratulations to Britten-Norman and EVIA AERO GmbH on their recent announcement! Evia have signed an LOI for 15 BN-2 Islanders with delivery of the aircraft due in early 2027, and will subsequently be converted to zero-emissions platforms powered by hydrogen fuel-cell propulsion systems. A very positive step forward for zero-emissions aviation! ✈️ https://lnkd.in/ej-3rweW #EVIA #ZeroEmissionsAviation #FutureFlight #HydrogenPropulsion #CleanerSkies #SustainableAviation #Hydrogen

The aerospace industry has made significant progress in improving fuel efficiency - today’s commercial aircraft are around 20% less polluting than those of a generation ago. But as passenger demand continues to grow, these efficiency gains are being outpaced, and aviation’s global emissions are rising. At Cranfield Aerospace Solutions, we believe it’s time for a new approach. To truly address aviation’s environmental impact, we need to stop emitting CO2 from aircraft entirely. This means a revolution, not just evolution, in propulsion and aircraft technology. As 2025 begins, we’re focused on developing hydrogen-powered aircraft and propulsion systems that will help drive this change. With nearly 30 years of experience providing safe and certified aerospace solutions, we’re taking a phased approach to innovation, working closely with regulators, partners, and industry stakeholders to create technologies that are effective, practical, and safe. The road to zero-emissions aviation is a collaborative effort. By working together, we can ensure air travel remains a vital part of our lives while taking critical steps to protect our planet for future generations. 🌟 🎥 Watch our brand video and join us as we chart the flightpath to cleaner skies. 🔗 www.cranfieldaerospace.com #ZeroEmissionsAviation #HydrogenFlight #CleanerSkies #HydrogenAviation #HydrogenTech #FutureFlight #CranfieldAerospace #SustainableAviation

I had the privilege of attending the first “International Workshop on Certifying Hydrogen-Powered Aircraft” hosted by EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency in Cologne. It was great to see the entire Hydrogen-Powered Aircraft Community coming together to discuss the upcoming challenges and opportunities. From a UK perspective, I was particularly pleased to see Helen Leadbetter representing the UK Civil Aviation Authority , and jointly with EASA and the Federal Aviation Administration, sharing details on the newly published “Certification Roadmap”. From Cranfield Aerospace Solutions’ perspective, it was encouraging to hear that our internal certification strategy aligns well with that of the major regulators, and we can press ahead with the work as planned. The next step for EASA, FAA, and UK CAA is to publish a draft International White Paper by Q2 of 2025, which forms part of the overall roadmap. These are exciting times for the aerospace industry, and a big thank you to EASA for hosting this valuable workshop.
