Growth > exponential growth > extreme growth In the startup world, growth is the name of the game. The faster, the better. Hosting a community though, isn’t primarily about increasing the numbers. It’s about relevance. Same for organizing events. As we’re preparing for the next edition for SaaS Summit Benelux, our starting point is very simple: 👉 Relevance over growth. Simply attracting as many people as possible doesn’t guarantee impact. What makes a difference is curating a relevant audience. Having a strict door policy like this is scary. Every week, I have a few hard conversations with people who like to attend but do not qualify. Those calls suck, but I believe it’s our responsibility to do what we can to make this event worthwile. My wonderful biz coach asked me this today and I passed it on to all my clients with a little extra added in: *Reflect on where you were this time last year.* Really reflect on where you were. What you were doing What you were thinking? Who were you? What did you believe? --- Then look at where you are now. What have you achieved? Who are you now? What do you believe? It's a gorgeous reflective practice, I did it last night with Antoine Wallet and these are the results: ✅Set up my new biz ✅ Achieved my AC accreditation ✅Got married ✅Started Djing ✅Have 4 people working with me! ✅Launched Thrive Circle ✅Finally made some friends in Lyon! ✅Had an idea, funded and built Payant our SaaS product! ✅Got stronger and can hold longer planks and hold my breath for 1min 30! ✅Cold plunged for a month ✅Discovered I am more connected to woowoo things than I thought, and it's not so scary! Going to TNW this year. Looking forward to meeting: 1. experienced founders who want alternatives to their transactional VC fundraising efforts 2. founders with 1m+ ARR who are open to discuss buy-n-build strategies for themselves, instead of just working towards an exit (someone else's buy-n-build strategy) 3. experienced corporate leaders/managers who are fully prepared to start a business of their own, but need a competent technology partner to build their MVP in exchange for an equity share of their idea (AI powered, SAAS, b2b, platforms)

I've started organizing online events within my SaaS Founders Club community (https://lnkd.in/gtc4kJE3), which has grown to 10,000 members over the past 10 months. I've defined several event formats: 1. Show and tell, where SaaS founders present their products, receive feedback, and answer questions. 2. Expert Sessions: we invite experts to speak on specific topics followed by a Q&A session. 3. Mastermind groups: we discuss important topics as a group, breaking them down into 3 sub-questions. For me, it's an opportunity to boost confidence, practice English, meet new people, and learn from their experiences. Some have started companies in Hong Kong, others have developed AI-based products, and some have sold companies for hundreds of millions of dollars. Every interaction like this motivates me to evolve and explore new horizons.

Winding down from two days of SaaSOpen (Next: Sept 5th, NYC) in Austin where I closed out the event with my keynote, few initial thoughts: 1. Austin is awesome. Love it everytime I visit. 2. There isn’t a SaaS event I’ve been to with such a high density of founder/CEO’s 3. The appetite for founders at this conference to be open, honest, help, support and connect is refreshing and great to witness. People REALLY care about helping each other. 4. So many founders have challenges they’re struggling to unlock on their own. SO MANY. How can I/we do more? 5. Spent time with dealpad.io customers and remind me how fortunate we are to have such incredible supporters My talk centered on why founders are the best sellers in their company and I shared some hacks I’ve personally used to drive growth. I’ll share the talk recording when it’s ready. Key takeaway: let’s help each other succeed, more.
