Through high-impact advocacy, we are building a food system for animals, people, and our planet. Today’s heavily consolidated food systems place most power in the hands of multi-billion dollar corporations while working for nearly no one else. Over 99 percent of animals farmed in the U.S. are confined to factory farms that cause immense animal suffering, exploit workers, harm local communities, and drive widespread environmental devastation. At Farm Sanctuary, we know that there’s a better way to nourish each other. That’s why we are working across movements to build the good: equitable and sustainable food systems that benefit all of us: animals, people, and our planet. As the year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together in 2023 and share the good moments.

Today, we released our 2023 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Report, underscoring our commitment to advancing ESG-related matters through our Healthy Purpose™ Pillars - Healthier Animals, Healthier People, Healthier Planet and Healthier Enterprise. The report showcases a range of internal initiatives and strategic external partnerships, all aimed at demonstrating how healthier animals can positively impact global issues such as food security, mental health, social isolation and environmental sustainability. We're at the forefront of sustainable innovation, transforming animal care for our customers. From launching the first treatment for canine parvovirus - one of the deadliest diseases in puppies - to pioneering new products while helping build marketplaces that support emissions reduction goals. According to recent research by Systemiq, regenerative farming must triple its rate of growth to contribute towards the world’s need to limit climate change to 1.5 degrees. That’s why it’s a key part of our work towards our Mars Net Zero Roadmap. 👀 Looks like I was in one of Gotham Greens most recent Instagram Posts, where they talk about the importance of pollinators and how crucial they are to food production, diversity, and sustainability. Pollinators are super important not just to me personally but, also to my job as an IPM (Integrated Pest Management Specialist). I look for that balance in pest control, recognizing the difference between harmful and beneficial insects. By seeding the ground outside the greenhouse, we increase bees, butterflies, beetles, birds, and more, supporting a more sustainable healthy food ecosystem. https://lnkd.in/gjZhYwi2
