It's been so refreshing to use incident.io, the slack based incident management feels modern and well thought out. While changing such a crucial part of your stack can be scary, the whole transition went incredibly smooth, thanks to the hard work of many talented people from both sides. The product is such a joy to use, you almost hope you get an incident so that you can use it. And for this the game days Gregor MacLaren organised were perfect. It took less than 30 minutes for any engineer to "get it" and to never want to go back afterwards. Especially features like reacting to a message to pin it to the timeline, or to mark it as an action item or a follow up are incredibly useful to keep everything aligned.
Intercom is a business with soul. I've long admired them — especially their recent work — and wanted to have them as our customer. I'm proud to say we now do! They've migrated wholesale off of PagerDuty, using us as their primary response platform for Alerting/On-Call and Incident Response. They've been kind enough to share some words about why they did that below. It's been a privilege to work with the Intercom team, and I'm looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership. If you'd like to join such great company (along with many others!), we've love to have you.

Why is it important for sales to buy into community-led growth? P.S. I’m not a huge video guy, so when Joshua Bailey 🦕⛵️ asked me to do a take on the importance of community within sales, I was a bit nervous 🤣 I believe it went better than expected, but want feedback. Lmk in the comments 😊 #community #sales #b2b #saas
Just a guy trying to build community through humor and value. Current focus is building Saleboats MVP 2.0
Why is community so important in sales? “Well when mommy community and daddy community have too much founder juice… they make revenue through a trusted audience.” All jokes aside, I believe community is where everything, when it comes to building a revenue machine, truly starts. But don’t worry.. I also brought in one of the pros to answer this question. Jason Hasenberg 👑 (Officially crowned a top community king) Jason is the community mastermind at SalesIntel and is also one of the kindest souls you’d meet. He is very open to sharing his knowledge with those who reach out to him so if you like what Jason said here, drop everything and go give him a follow!

We win the majority of our deals at Scout because of lightning fast support. Even if your product is better / different vs. what else is out there, you're still fighting an uphill battle to prove yourself (especially as a startup). Today, we had a sales leader at a sizable company request a new feature on Intercom (the feature itself isn't important so I'll spare the details). Within an hour we built and released the feature because it was easy, and we felt it would be applicable for other users. They were impressed, and now we have a formal meeting booked to do some discovery, understand what they're looking for, and hopefully be able to offer the right solution. And... we've established trust! The most important thing in sales :) So to all companies out there wondering why their spamming / pitch slapping isn't working... try this: ▶ Focus on doing great marketing. Both inbound and outbound. Content is 👑 ▶ Once you get people to try your product, make supporting them your biggest priority. Oh, and special shout out to Dean Sloves for manning our Intercom 24/7 -- he deserves an award 💪
