Sustainability is a call to action we take seriously. Seeing our clients align with this stance is truly wonderful. 🌱 Take a look at how Kauno Grūdai is making a difference: They're changing the game by offering their organic products in doypacks, a sustainable packaging solution that slashes carbon emissions by 67% compared to cans and glass jars over the product lifecycle. ♻️ This product features energy-efficient production and transportation processes, alongside minimal residual waste, all while being BPA-free. Additionally, Kauno Grudai takes the extra step of processing the plastic for packaging in-house, which further decreases CO2 emissions by avoiding the need for external processing. Overall, 97% of their organic products packaging is recyclable, and 61% is made from renewable resources. We're proud to play a significant role in this sustainability effort, aiming to reduce the carbon footprint globally. Let's take action now for a better tomorrow! 🌍💜

Let’s face it, circularity is bloody hard work! Many new business models that I see today, underestimate the complexity in making a new value chain at industrial scale. Partnership is a key success factor. Circularity is vital to not only decarbonize the world, but also to solve material scarcity. It’s also a unique business opportunity, where Scandinavian companies have a competitive edge thanks to our culture and history of collaboration! Focus on materials that matters and business clusters with both the willingness and capability to transform, at industrial scale. Thanks for having me today, Handelshøyskolen BI (Norwegian Business School), Abelia and Sustainability Hub Norway (S-HUB)

What are the corporate sustainability trends shaping 2024? 🌎 Green tech will lead the way - Reducing carbon emissions is at the forefront of corporate sustainability strategies and will be critical for businesses in the year ahead. The use of innovative green technologies, such as Chivas Brothers use of MVR, will play a major role in this transition to help organisations achieve their sustainability goals. ♻️ Rethinking the role of packaging - Manufacturers will need to evaluate their approach to packaging to reduce the environmental impact of products and pave the way to a sustainable future. Pernod Ricard is on track to achieving its 2025 goal of ensuring 100% of all packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable. 🌿 Safeguarding nature and biodiversity - Last year's State of Nature Scotland's report revealed a 15% decrease in Scottish wildlife since 1994, which is a stark reminder of the importance for businesses to actively restore and protect ecosystems now and into the future.

Reducing our impact on the planet is a complex task, a challenge that we, at large-scale manufacturing companies, must tackle head-on. But it shouldn't be overwhelming. Major steps, like installing solar panels, are important. Just as worthwhile are the small details that, when added up, can make a real difference. If you are interested in how we can help reduce your company's impact, from a manufacturing point of view, please get in touch.
For us, sustainability begins with a mindset, then becomes a journey. The small steps we take every day add up to something big. This backpack is an example of that. Looking at the details, we were able to make a series of choices on material, dye, hardware and construction that incrementally amount to a significant reduction in impact on the planet, once in full production. As large-scale manufacturers of bags for over two decades we've gained some insights into sustainable materials and methods, yet we still can learn more. Let us know your thoughts.
