Today we celebrate the #EuropeDay, to claim the union of states in a collaborative environment to achieve global solutions. The #LIFECyanobloom is a great example of this collaboration in a European context in which each entity contributes its know-how and allows the solution to be tested in different European locations, making its conclusions applicable to different environments. Session 4: Europe and the world 🌍 With a lot of enthusiasm, we welcomed Maris Stulgis (European Commission) and Charlotte Jagot (CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency) for this very important session which concretely highlighted Europe's actions and support in the algae sector 🙂. As a reminder 💡, in Nov. 2022 the EU Commission adopted the Communication: ‘Towards a strong and sustainable EU algae sector' ↪️ a pioneering initiative to unlock the potential of algae in the European Union, with « 23 actions to create opportunities for the industry to help it grow into a robust, sustainable and regenerative sector capable of meeting the growing EU demand » As algae stakeholders, we all are ready to face these challenges. Through the #DireccionGeneralDelAgua of the #RegionDeMurcia -and within the framework of the Waterman project, of the Interreg Baltic program (https://lnkd.in/dJ6WKuEb), at Dinapsis #RegionDeMurcia we received yesterday the visit of an expedition of technicians from #Germany, #Denmark, #Sweden, #Poland, #Latvia and #Lithuania. During the visit we presented DINAPSIS, the network of digital transformation hubs for water management, environmental health and the ecological transition of the territories; a network promoted by AGBAR to face the environmental challenges of the 21st century. Of course, we also talk to them about our hub Dinapsis #RegionDeMurcia, and what we do here -our events in the #InnovationLab-, as well as our #OperationalIntelligence model with which we offer a 24/7 service from our Operational Hub, sustainably managing -and in real time- the services and assets of the #CompleteWaterCycle of all the municipalities in which Hidrogea is present. Finally, in the #Showroom, our guests were able to learn about different Dinapsis solutions, and even interact with some of them. In this way, it became clear to everyone that, with #DigitalTransformation as a pillar and #Sustainability as an objective, DINAPSIS is a network of Hubs that works in a transparent and collaborative way to offer cyber-secure digital services for the world of #water, for #cities, and for #industries; and always with the aim that we all enjoy greener and healthier cities, more livable municipalities. Creating a greener future by preserving biodiversity   Biodiversity is under threat worldwide. Over the past 8 years, Helvetas, the Vietnamese Center for Rural Economy Development (CRED) and SECO have worked together to conserve biodiversity through sustainable trade in biodiversity-based products as part of the Regional Biotrade Project (RBT). This initiative has enabled local producers and exporters in Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia to access global value chains, boosting incomes for rural communities who rely on biodiversity for their livelihoods. Some thoughts from my panel intervention "Happy coexistence with nature, citizens, and fisheries?"at the Annual Event  #WindEurope2024 in Bilbao. As someone deeply involved in pushing for a fast, fair, and nature-friendly #renewableenergy acceleration through my work with Climate Action Network (CAN) Europe, the discussion was close to my heart. It’s clear that if we want to see the massive volumes of wind energy 🌬 getting off the ground, we need to bring 💚 local communities into the heart of the conversation. Key takeaways: 🤝 Engaging with Communities: It's about real conversations and genuine dialogue, understanding local needs and concerns, and acting on them. Developers must move beyond viewing communities as obstacles or mere stakeholders to be informed, towards seeing them as active partners in planning, developing, and sharing the benefits of wind energy projects. 💬 Being Fair, Open, and Inclusive: It is about early, transparent, and honest communication. Communities must have a say in projects that affect their lives and must be provided with opportunities to participate meaningfully in decision-making processes, including the location, planning, and development of these projects. 💪 The Power of Community Ownership: When communities can own and co-invest, they see the tangible benefits of wind projects and cherish the projects with pride. These projects do more than just generate power, they EMPOWER communities by ensuring economic benefits are retained locally and foster broad support for the energy transition. Reflecting on the discussions we had, I'm reminded that at the core of our climate action efforts, it is the peoples participation and their empowerment what truly drive meaningful change.
