Don’t miss the sampling window! ⏰ October is the last optimal month of the year to gather samples for Crayfish plague and Dreissenid mussels - just some of the key species we’re here to help you monitor with our qPCR tests! Studies have shown that both Crayfish plague and Dreissenid eDNA detection and concentrations tend to be higher in summer and autumn. And with the nights drawing in, less than a two week window remains for the best chance of detection. Sampling at the right time of year is crucial for eDNA detection accuracy. The ideal time of year to sample can vary for a number of reasons, including breeding season, seasonal changes in abundance or biomass of the target species – or environmental conditions, like temperature. That’s where our sampling calendars come into play, ensuring you can gather the most accurate data, in the most efficient way. Download our European and North American qPCR sampling calendars to ensure you don’t miss any crucial sampling windows: https://lnkd.in/ef4nXBGK

Ever wondered what lies beneath the waves at world-class sailing events? Our eDNA technology is helping uncover the marine life hiding beneath the SailGP race locations worldwide! From detections of endangered hogfish in Bermuda to unexpected humpback whale DNA, we're helping Deutsche Bank gain crucial insights into ocean biodiversity to support conservation efforts, together with its partners the Whale and Dolphin Conservation and SailGP. But this project isn't just about discovery – it's a powerful example of connecting finance to environmental stewardship. In SailGP races, teams compete not just for the race podium, but also for the Impact League Podium. This innovative approach rewards positive environmental and social contributions, proving it's not just about racing boats - it's about racing to protect our oceans. This project showcases how finance and science can unite for environmental stewardship. Because a healthy economy depends on a healthy environment meaning financial leadership goes hand in hand with environmental responsibility. At NatureMetrics we look forward to continuing our work with Deutsche Bank bank and Markus H.-P. Müller, setting new standards in the finance industry.

Mission ACCOMPLISHED! ⛵️ 🧬 The North-west Passage Ocean Science Expedition has landed safely in Alaska with over 100 days worth of Arctic biodiversity data collected! After four months of battling harsh Arctic conditions, navigating through icebergs, and collecting valuable scientific data, we are so excited to announce that Keith Tuffley and his crew have successfully completed their Northwest Passage expedition! Landing safely in Alaska the Abel Tasman has sailed over 13,000 km, crossing 6 of the 9 global tipping points located in the Arctic. Throughout this incredible journey, the team has been collecting eDNA samples every day using NatureMetrics' kits, which will help paint a comprehensive picture of life in these remote Arctic waters, from microscopic organisms to large marine mammals. Key highlights from the expedition: - 100+ days at sea - 13,000+ km sailed - Over 100 eDNA and microplastic samples collected filling ocean-data gaps - Sightings of diverse Arctic wildlife, including whales, seals, and seabirds - Navigated through challenging ice fields and extreme weather conditions The data collected during this expedition will provide crucial insights into Arctic marine biodiversity. As climate change continues to impact this sensitive ecosystem, the information gathered will be invaluable for conservation efforts and our understanding of global environmental changes. Congratulations to the entire team for this remarkable achievement: Isak Rockström, Alex Rockström, Sylvestre Campe, Gama Rodrigues, Cléo Campe, Sebastian Sánchez, Ramon Goncalves, Karina Oliani, Kester Haynes, Rakel Thorell, and Meg O'Hara. Your dedication and perseverance have made this expedition a resounding success! We're also immensely proud to have played a part in this groundbreaking research effort alongside our partners: The Adventure Yacht Company, Mercuria, Silvania, The Villars Institute, The Ocean Race, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Houdini Sportswear, Shackleton, MSQ/Sustain, The Marine Diaries, Thesus, SailProof , ZeroSixZero, Parajet, Vittorazi Motors, and Ozone Paramotor.
